We have visited Florence 4 or 5 times, always with our dog.
We have visited Florence 4 or 5 times, always with our dog. Although the temperature was 40° and even 42° on one day, it is easy to find somewhere with a/c to escape the heat. I would recommend pre-booking tours with Get Your Guide or some such and include 'skip the line' tickets. We did an excellent 'Dark Secrets' night, walking tour. Try and find the less touristy areas across the bridges for better prices etc.Guest review bySally-ann MaseykUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Pisa actually really did pleasantly surprised me.
Pisa actually really did pleasantly surprised me. as a solo traveller I have to say I really enjoyed 24hours there and I have made the most of it. Local people made me feel extremely welcome and were really helpful in answering all the questions and giving recommendations. It is worth googling best restaurants in town rather than staying around touristic attractions as they are a tourist trap. And those former, are exceptionally good.. . As I walked down the cobbled streets of Pisa and marvelled idyllic architecture ahead of me, I have lost myself in an exceptionally great winery- Enoteca - La Cantinetta which is family owned and takes you through a journey of local wines produce. The owner is very passionate about it and has a great knowledge about the wines in general. The L’Ostellino serves best sandwiches filled with local specialities- my personal favourite- Black smoky Angus rucola and pecorino which melts in your mouth with every bite. The Dolce Pisa which is just across the street, will serve you an authentic pastries accompanied with an espresso. Their desserts, especially, Cannoli are on a different level. You cannot skip Primo Pasta place that serves street food pasta and tiramisu is to die for!! Staff service is exceptionally good! Overall, those 24hours were divine and would recommend anyone to visit!Guest review byKarolinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Siena is an absolute gem, with a lovely sense of community and friendly people. There is so much to see and admire, but the Duomo (and especially the new Porta del Cielo) is the star attraction. But avoid Palio time if you don't like crowds!Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Was not impressed with the city and expected more given all the review I read online. My disapointment could be due to the fact I visited in February, so off season. I booked two nights but decided to only stay for one and left early. Even though I booked a room in the central part of the city I did not feel safe walking the streets at night.Guest review byViktoria - 10.0

We liked exploring the entire City and were fastinated with the old buildings. Only negative comment would be fact you need to pay for the use of the washroom. Most were dirty and lacked toilet seats.Guest review byDanielCanada - 8.0

Not very affordable as you need to pay for beach space and extras. Beaches are meant for all to enjoy and be free like in Australia. All beaches are for all to enjoy. Didn’t go once to the beach to swim or other. It’s not a holiday for summer it’s to expensiveGuest review byChrissoulaAustralia - 10.0

A really lovely Italian town within an easy 40 min drive or 1 hr train ride to Florence, Pisa is also close as is Siena. A lovely town to use a base to see the rest of Tuscany and to come back to at night. We loved it!Guest review byCurious TravellerUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Arezzo had enough history and sites to keep us interested.
Arezzo had enough history and sites to keep us interested. The walkable streets, ruins, and churches were easy to get to. There were plenty of restaurants ti choose from, and it was easy to recognize places where Life is Beautiful were filmed. Friendly and peaceful!Guest review byNatividadUnited States
