Marcella went above and beyond with everything even before we arrived- great communication and when we met her we were so impressed with her warmth and concern for our comfort. She helped arrange transportation from Cusco airport and from the hotel back to Cusco making things very easy for us. The hotel was lovely and the rooms on the top floor with the balcony had spectacular views.

We stayed 2 nights in Ollantaytambo and in the mean time we went from here to Machu Picchu. I would defitnetly recommend to stay in Ollantaytambo easily 2 nights and specifically in this location. This is the town where you take the train to aguas calientes, this hotel is literally 5 minutes walking from the train station which is why we chose this. The staff is super friendly, they have a beautiful garden and a really nice breakfast. It was the first breakfast where we received watermelon and papaya for breakfast which was great (amongst other things). This was definetly our favorite breakfast of the whole trip. Oh yeah and the first time real fresh bread. Bonus point is they are right next to Chullpi which was our favorite hotspot for coffee, local beers and lunch!

The hotel Del Pilar Ollantaytambo is outstanding! it is situated about 20 minutes by car from Ollantaytambo in the beautiful valle de Vilcanota. Our room had a stunning view to the picturesque mountain. Everything in this hotel is precisely executed and decorated with lot of taste. The food is tasty and classy, the staff is kind and all the services are superb.
We failed to buy tickets for Machu Picchu online. Irvin (the manager of the hotel) and Karen (the front desk manager) noticed our struggle and did everything possible to help us. With their help we were ale to get successfully last minute tickets for Machu Picchu.
We will keep memories from the hotel as one of the best hotels we ever stayed in.

The absolute best town to stay for your trip to the Sacred Valley or Machu Picchu! The most beautiful historical centre and with ruins on both sides to ecplore. What an amazing town! Do mot even think about staying in Aguas Calientes, here there is so much character and history with the most beautiful architecture to explore and streers to get lost in. Definitely a must stay over!!

This is a beautiful village, very friendly to visitors. During the day, the backdrop of the mountains, and the absolutely gorgeous blue sky is phenomenal. This is a great place to stay for a trip to Machu Picchu.
We ate delicious meals at La Sarita, Quinoa, and Apu Pitasuray.

Ollantaytambo, the hidden gem of the Sacred Valley ! more people should investigate and spend their time in Ollantaytambo, instead of booking their time in Cusco or anywhere else, within the Sacred Valley. We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley...
We made Ollantaytambo our home base for our Sacred Valley visit and were glad we did. It was small enough to walk everywhere, the train station, the square, the archaeological park, the original pre-colonial section of town. We visited in the low season in the last half of February and enjoyed the smaller number of visitors.

We messed up our communication and did not get tickets to Machu Picchu. Do your research and purchase tickets BEFORE you arrive…months in advance for high season. Nevertheless we toured the archeological wonders of the Sacred Valley— Temples of the sun and moon and more. It was very spiritually powerful and architecturally awe inspiring, did not feel like a consolation prize for missing MP…. Just a reason to come back. Do not miss this tour if you are hire… and hire the guide. It’s worth it. Food was great here too.

We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights.
We loved this town. In total we stayed 3 nights. And would've preferred to stay another night instead of returning to Cusco. The restaurants are plenty and good, the people are so nice, and the coffee shops are nice. Hiking all around, and the ruins and market are enjoyable.
Both walking everywhere is good and getting a taxi is also easy.
This is a small hotel within walking distance from the town square. It's simple but still charming, clean and quiet. We decided to stay in Ollantaytambo ("Ollanta") instead of Machu Picchu Pueblo (ex Aguas Calientes) which turned out to be a good choice. Ollanta is a nice little village with their own inca-heritage. The train station is easy accessable for the morning train to Machu. The staff (mother and daughter?) in the hotel is helpful and friendly. Would we stay there again? Yes, probably.
Wow!!!!
Nicol and Antonio are SUPER lovely, and so is their beautiful hotel. We absolutely loved visiting, and thanks to this we found Ollantaytambo was our favourite place in Peru. We felt so comfortable all the time, and they were very helpful and warm, telling us about the culture and history as well as offering diverse services for transport, breakfast, dinner, beautiful views from the top of their house, and it was just fantastic. This is the best place ever! Highly recommend !
This hotel is at the train station which was perfect as we spent night and boarded early train to Aquas Caliente. Buffet breakfast was very good with pancakes and eggs made to order. Hotel was able to store luggage for our overnight trip to Aquas Caliente. Staff was great. We had a rental car and there were car parks on street, walking distance to hotel. But did take tuk-tuk to plaza center and ruins.
perfect perfect perfect
ollantaytambo is a quant authentic village filled with Incan culture. to top our visit the hotel met just that same description, the room was conformable and clean and staff extremely helpful with ideas on what to explore and the hidden treasures surrounding the village.
breakfast was lovely with plenty of food and drinks
beautiful little hotel
The hotel is literally at the train station. Super clean and convenient to take the train to Machu Pichu. If you have the time to walk around the property and visit the distillery, coffee shop and garden please do as there's much more than just bedroom
Note that if you will hear the trains arriving or leaving so make sure you're ok with that. Food was also really good
Amazing! From the outside it looks a bit off, but once you are inside it’s like walking into a little mountainside oasis. The owner is a one man show. He receives you, cooks for you, and is there to answer any of your questions. I was in Peru for 10 days and this was by far my favorite boutique hotel. Don’t forget to try his homemade wood oven pizza!
This hotel was well located near the main town, with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. A lovely garden surrounded the hotel, with seating, where one could enjoy the views. The Spanish style buildings and decor added a nice touch to the hotel ambience.
Lovely quiet hotel on the edge of Ollantaytambo. Walking distance from the train station for Machu Picchu. Comfortable bed, decent shower, and a fantastic breakfast. Biker friendly! Incredibly generous host let me leave my motorcycle and bags at the hotel for two days while I visited Machu Picchu. Amazing.
Ollantaytambo is a very small town but very pretty. It’s an Inca’s town with real Inca’s buildings. Hotel is very close to ollantaytambo ruins and main plaza. It’s not close to the train station you can take a moto taxi that can pick you up from hotel to train station for only 5 soles 1.20 dollars.
Great experience in Ollantaytambo. The location is far from the center in a mountain, with great view and amazing vibe. They have a driver to pick you up from the main square that will take you to the hotel. Amazing room and facilities, such a thoughtful staff. 200% worth the stay
Beautiful hotel with an amazing garden, just down the street from the train station.
The staff were extremely warm and friendly, and always there if we needed anything.
We loved being there, and cannot wait to go back.
Ask for the garden room. The view is a dream.
Excellent hotel with high standards and lots of space and greenery. We love its quiet location in the valley, being surrounded by mountains and river. That said, it’s a 20-minute drive from Ollantaytambo so you definitely need a car to stay here.
We absolutely loved this hotel! We are a family of 4 and found this hotel to be the PERFECT place to relax after our long trek on the Inca Trail. So grateful for this beautiful hotel - I can't imagine a better place to stay in Ollantaytambo!
Clean, comfortable hotel with a beautiful view next to a river. Central location and is within easy walking distance to the train station, the rest of the town and the surrounding ruins. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Really good value B&B in Ollantaytambo with nice breakfast. Our room was spacious and the comfortable and was perfect for a 2 night stay in the Sacred Valley before we started the inka trail.
The location is great - by the river, near the mountains and a short walk to the main plaza of Ollantaytambo. The staff was very friendly, helpful and kind.
