Sailing, Golf and Sun in Algarve
A luxury, purpose-built resort along the Algarve region coastline offering a variety of accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to villas and apartments, Vilamoura is the largest complex of its type in Europe. It is conveniently located, 16 km from Albufeira and 25 km from Faro Airport.

Although the area was developed from scratch by the Porto banker Cupertino de Miranda in 1974, its origins date back to Roman times. The Cerro da Vila Museum tells the story of the ancient fishing town, and displays the ruins of the Roman baths from the 1st century.

Fantastic Marina with Shops, bars, Portuguese and British restaurants etc. Lovely promenade walk to Quarteira. Award winning Faleisia Beach nearby. Everything in walking distance. Friendly Portuguese people. Ate in the Zu ye Chinese on the Marina - Crispy duck with orange. Also Retinto restuarant does a fantastic Brazilian Rodizio.

Beautiful place, fantastic food.
Beautiful place, fantastic food. Lots of trips you are able to book when you're there like parasailing, fishing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, visit the caves, there's a waterpark nearby, beaches are beautiful and clean. It was perfect for a family holiday and we had great weather while we were there.

Vilamoura is a nice resort, we had not been there before, most activity at night is centred at the marina, where there are loads of restuarants and bars to suit everyone. Beach was lovely I would go back again, but definitley not to the apartment we stayed in , the apartment itself was fine but not the location or the very old run down building it was in. I would not recommend it to anyone .

Great location with fantastic restaurants around the Marina and the streets behind. Easy to walk everywhere, plenty of shops and supermarkets in addition to local businesses. We loved the atmosphere and the warm welcome in bars and restaurants. Weather was constantly warm and sunny, average 26 degrees for 1st 2 weeks in October. I Cesteiro fish restaurant were we had turbot as a favourite, along with The Fisherman’s Shack, Rodizio & Sal & Fogo, all amazing food and serviceCaroleUnited Kingdom

We have a 4-year old and this is the only way that we can let him play in the sand and in the water without constantly holding his hand. The Atlantic Ocean is a little too rough for that. The whole setting of the Resort is beautiful, with the lake, the nice buildings (only nice architecture in all of Vilamoura). Another convenient highlight is the closeness to the Vilamoura Marina und Falesia Beach.

The balcony looks over the marina and we enjoyed having a glass of wine watching the beautiful sunset. There is an additional balcony for sunbathing which gets the sun to approximately 3.30pm. The apartment was spotless, had everything we needed and a very comfortable bed. The location was ideal with no problems getting an Uber or a Taxi into the marina at night for dinner. It was also a lovely walk to the Marina in the mornings.
