Rooms are above the Pub. We had Room #3. Clean, 2 single beds. Quite roomy. Shower pressure was good. Check in at pub. Staff are young and really nice. Pub food downstairs was also good and also during a Scottish football league game. Free breakfast 9-10am. We had to take the early ferry (9am) and the staff offered a packed breakfast (sandwich, banana, yogurt, chips and a bottle water) for us to take for the next day.

It was very comfortable and well appointed- the welcome basket was a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated. Great proximity to Skye via ferry and many beautiful hikes nearby. The town is very charming as well. We didn’t want to leave! Thank you for creating a lonely home away from home 😊

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history.

Mallaig is a small port town with an interesting history. The Mallaig Historical Centre is worth a visit to learn about the story and people behind the town. There are quite a few fabulous cafes and restaurants specialising in fresh fish and home baking. There is a lot of Harry Potter tourists due to the train and viaduct, but this does not distract too much from the enjoyment of a visit.

Mallaig is an active, attractive, village with trains from Fort William and ferries out to the islands and other peninsulas. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants with hotels and B&Bs. The location is stunning with gorgeous views of the beasutiful coast and islands. Lots to do and a fun, friendly place to stay.

We had a wee day in the town with gift shops etc, a trip to Skye the next but would have liked to take more boat trip if we'd been there longer. The shops and things closed quite early and as we had kids with us not sure if there's any "nightlife"

I felt that everyone we came across was out to give us a wonderful holiday. The Bake house is a must . Their Portuguese tarts and pecan/ maple buns are delicious. Coffee 5* The trip to Knydart from Mallaig was enhanced by the crew . They were so knowledgable about the area and shared it with us.

It's hilly, no good for people unable to walk well.

It's hilly, no good for people unable to walk well. I found the hills a bit challenging but of course the scenery is wonderful. It's also only a 45 minute crossing by ferry to reach the Isle of Skye, such a beautiful place. Also, the food is very good in Mallaig, especially the Crab and Creel - would definitely recommend their scallops, wonderful!

Great location, close to the train station. Attentive staff and friendly staff. Great customer service from Callum and Martin. Food was excellent. Great value. Ate somewhere else on second night , regretted as food not as good and double the price! Breakfast was delicious and included in the room price. We travelled by train to Mallaig, the scenery is breathtaking. Unfortunately could not go to Skye as planned, this was due to Ferry cancelation due to storm on its way. Would stay again.

The location of the hotel is superb with far reaching views across the sound to Skye and the other small isles further out to sea. The welcome was prompt, warm and friendly and you could tell the owners had paid a lot of attention to the room. It was modern and comfortable with every convenience needed. Dinner was tasty and enjoyable with spectacular sunset views of the sea and the sky to accompany our meal. I'd recommend the West Highland to anyone visitng Mallaig, it was excellent value.

We had a two night stay, not long enough. Spindrift is well equipped and a lot of thought has obviously gone into making it a home from home. We hope to return for a longer visit soon. Mallaig is a lovely little working fishing town with access to the Isle of Skye by ferry, but not as populated by tourists as Skye.
