The room was much nicer, for this stay, particularly the shower. The parking is also a bonus. Location is convenient, as we only stay for a night away from the kids.

Melbourne is so full of history and character.
Melbourne is so full of history and character. I was there 3rd week in July, so still cottage garden flowers and fantastic colourful gardens, pots, hanging baskets on view in Melbourne. Was in 3 Cafès, 1 pub restaurant and Melbourne Hall's Gardens and cafè. All excellent with friendly staff. Nice independent shops there too. I thought the Melbourne Cobbler's shop was unique in that he sold a great selection of items in the small shop, he repaired all sorts of footwear, bags etc, he cut keys and he accepted parcel post for locals and stored parcel post from locals for collection by various couriers. . . All with a 😃smile.

A handsome and lovely town/village.
A handsome and lovely town/village. We went to a super wedding reception at The Spirit Vaults and dinner later at a pub on the outskirts of the vllage.
My advice would be to avoid staying and being ripped off at Harpurs and stay somewhere else.

Only visited briefly as attending Donington Historic Festival all weekend. Lovely quaint, historical, picturesque village with good amenities. Many food option, old pubs with great beer, a Halk and gardens. And all this within three minutes drive.
Modern, very clean and comfortable with the best bed (super king I believe) for comfort and warmth. Excellent quality fittings and equipment e.g. John Lewis crockery. Enough room for 2 people. Nice patio doors in living area and outdoor seating available. Able to control the radiators output with a slide control on the top. Lovely area and gardens with a fantastic view of countryside from the car park area (apartment no.1). Short ride to lovely town of Melbourne. Enjoyed the smart tv with Netflix.
This is a really nice small hotel, with a personal feel. Staff were lovely - smiling, friendly and attentive. Comfy room, with very large bed. Peaceful and tranquil.
Ground floor room was set up well for disabled guests, with flat access all the way from car park (which was right outside front door), and wet room shower.
Breakfast was included, and was a good size and very tasty indeed.
Loved the cottage and perfect for a 2 night stay. We parked right outside the property, easy walk to shops and great pubs. We did a lovely country walk around the lake next to Melbourne Hall. We Didn’t need to drive for two days! The cottage is converted to a high standard and extremely well equipped. We loved the crazy art too!
The apartment is spacious with good cooking facilities, lovely bathroom and a large extremely comfortable bed. The views from the apartment are great and it's only a 5 minute drive from the lively village of Melbourne which has some great places to eat and drink. We will be definitely staying again.
The guest house is within walking distance of the centre of Melbourne, close to restaurants, bars and a supermarket. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast room was well set out and welcoming.
Everything was great, location and accommodation were perfect. Just out of the property one way was the village and all it’s shops and pubs, the other way were amazing walks through Melbourne hall / pool estates.
Lovely quiet location with a wonderful view, friendly family run hotel that were very helpful during my stay. Spacious room with comfy double bed and clean throughout with a useful mini kitchen and fridge.
Staying in room 8 which is situated just over the road from the main bar and restaurant was different, but the room was beautifully presented with a great bed and luxury furnishings.
Second visit and will definitely keep coming to this lovely cottage.
Melbourne is a lovely town with good shops and plenty of good eating places.
Sarah is an excellent host.
Absolutely delightful place. It had everything we needed for our short stay and Melbourne was a lovely town. Would hands down come back and stay here again on a return visit.
