The staff was excellent. We arrived early and they held our bags while we explored the town. The staff suggested places to eat and they were very good. The hotel looks great and our room was very nice.

This B&B offers fabulous views of the water as well as dinner and breakfast. We arrived after dark, but it was still easy to find; it was so late, the restaurant kitchen was about to close, but they accommodated us, and we had a wonderful, hot dinner. The dining room was cozy and warm, a wonderful place to come home to on a chilly, blustery night. We would recommend this place.
Providing a garden, An Bothan offers accommodations in Mallaig. Both free Wifi and parking on-site are available at the apartment free of charge. Outdoor dining is also possible at An Bothan.

Perfect size and location, had everything we needed. They even provided oat milk for tea when I messaged to say we were vegan! We only stayed a few nights but feel like we got a lot out of Mallaig - and would definitely come back 😊

The view to the sands of morar are amazing that’s where the good review ends . We got put in room 30 at the top of the building . The shower head on the shower would not stay high enough on the rail just kept sliding down 😳 The window in the room didn’t shut right so there was a draft constantly which made the room cold . Also when the wind got up there was a constant noise which kept my wife up all night . Over all hotel very tired and dirty not worth the money avoid .

The Morar hotel is located in a small picturesque village overlooking Morar bay and sands.
My wife and I had a two night stay over and enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel staff when we used the dining room and bar facilities. All of the staff members looked after us impeccably, in particular Akram and Tuan worked hard to ensure our stay was memorable.
We would certainly recommend the Morar hotel for a relaxing stay in a beautiful location.

Morar is very quiet which was perfect for us.
Morar is very quiet which was perfect for us. It is also very well placed for exploring the surrounding areas. The beach was perfect, just like in the photos! The hotel was excellent, a very good menu and tasty food. Welcoming atmosphere, excellent staff and nothing was too much trouble. We went to Mallaig, 3 miles away, and took a boat trip and got to see Minke whales! We also took the ferry to Skye, just 45 minutes away, and had a fantastic display by dolphins following the ferry!

Morar Hotel is a lovely refurbished hotel with great views from the restaurant and the bedroom we had. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful and the food was good. Excellent buffet choice at breakfast.
Mallaig was only a couple of miles away and there was a boat doing free sailings until the 31st March which we recommend. The dog also had a great holiday running around the beautiful beaches and in and out the water.

It's an out-of-the-way place but has its own rail station.
It's an out-of-the-way place but has its own rail station. The views from the sea view bedrooms are far-reaching and can be watched for hours.
There is a Thai food outlet just a few doors from the hotel but it is closed on Mon/Tue nights.
Better priced and quieter than Mallaig, a good holding point for the ferry.

Morar is a gorgeous village with views across the peninsula.
Morar is a gorgeous village with views across the peninsula. There is a train station which runs trains around twice per day. The village is small, a 5 minute drive to Mallaig and around 10 minutes to Arisaig.
The beaches are pristine with bright white sand.
So peaceful and relaxing!
The staff was very helpful and diligent during my whole stay. The bar a restaurant were right downstairs and they both were cozy and and a great experience. The food and service were exceptional and they had a great variety of wine, beer, and liquor to choose from. I came for a relaxing trip so I could unwind and write, and I was able to do just that. Not to mention it was right across the street from the train station so transportation was a breeze. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
The views from our bedrooms and the restaurant were magnificent. The location was amazing. We travelled by train without difficulty. We visited Mallaig and the Knoydart Peninsula including The Old Forge in Inverie. The staff at the Morar Hotel, including Trenton, Akram and Tuan were most helpful to our party. Would highly recommend this hotel. Good value for money
Light and airy. Beautifully clean and well provided with linen and kitchen essentials etc. Lovely couple of owners very pleasant and helpful. Quiet and peaceful situation, easy to walk to loch morar, and a short scenic car or bicycle ride to mallaig or arising . Would definitely recommend it to all our friends wanting relaxing sanctuary. Easy parking for all.
The location was amazing; near to so many beautiful beaches and gorgeous scenery. The hotel itself was good although the Superior room was much smaller than we imagined it was going to be. The staff were very friendly and the food in the restaurant was lovely.
Gorgeous location on the coast of Scotland. We were able to walk to Loch Morar, and down to the beach. It was only a 5 minute drive to the ferry, to continue our journey on to the Isle of Skye. The lobby decor and dining room are very nice.
Good location across from Silver Sands of Morar. The single room was small but I knew it would be. Adequate space for a solo traveler. Good number of outlets and placed well in the room. Nice restaurant and staff. Good free parking.
The location was excellent, rooms were spacious and clean, friendly staff. Meal choice was limited as it was the bar menu and not restaurant menu. Evening meal was served in the bar which was a bit cramped. Good choice for breakfast
Location was excellent. Views of the silver sands of Morar and the Isle of Skye were spectacular. Staff at the hotel were friendly, professional and attentive. Good standards in room and throughout the hotel.
Well-placed hotel. Friendly front of house staff. Room cosy, but functional and plenty big enough for a solo traveller. Incredible access to train station (only across the road) and Silver Sands beaches.
Views from location stunning- had booked sea view. Friendly staff. Happy to tell us they were aware of issues throughout hotel but appreciate they were trying their best with ongoing renovations
Meals were pretty good, Dining room staff very nice and pleasant and help full and the Hotel great position over looking the sands and water with great sunset's over the lsle of Rum &Eigg
Staff made every effort to make our stay comfortable & enjoyable despite being short staffed. Hands off to the very pleasant restaurant manager who went above & beyond!
