Easy to park, fabulous grounds with a welcoming entrance. Although extensively refurbished there are still features of the old Quorn Grange I remember for working there 30 years ago. The bedroom was large and contained a massive comfortable bed(slept so well). There was a bath too and the nice touch of guest toiletries on the side. Tea coffee and hot chocolate on the side ready to be made. Had the weather been better I’d have enjoyed the double doors which do open on to the car park but still very leafy. The breakfast was basic but nothing was missed. The offer of a freshly cooked breakfast was given but I opted for the buffet continental instead. The restaurant itself formed of the original bar area and part of the original restaurant was light and airy and well laid out. It was a pleasure to stay and I will be visiting again.
The Manor House at Quorn has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Loughborough. This 4-star hotel features free WiFi and a bar. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar.

Absolutely first class and faultless service from the staff, very welcoming and friendly. Top quality breakfast, comfy bed and stylish and smart looking room. The evening food looked amazing but we did not eat there due to visiting family.

Booked as a deluxe double room found it to be no more than a standard room as found in any other budget hotel. Stayed in more superior rooms for less.
Certainly seen better days shown by poorly repaired wall damage, storage area facia broken away.
Pedal bin lid disgustingly dirty top storage shelf unclean.
Entertainment media (TV) signal continually breaking up.
Bedding questionable badly creased which may suggest only made up and not changed
Despite being booked in advance room was not adequately prepared i.e very cold evening no heating switched on in room so unable to settle in until room warmed up.
Seriously considering vacating for alternative accommodation on local area despite non refund policy so would loose rate already paid

Thrussington is a pretty village with thatched cottages etc. We stayed there because it was convenient for our activity the following day (at Mountsorrel) but there is not much to see or do in Thrussington.

Thrussington is a small countryside village five miles outside the market town of Melton Mowbray.
It is a friendly area with a delicatessen, a hairdressers and two pubs.
Good cycling and walking routes.
We had booked a three night stay at this hotel. I understand it was a budget hotel but at the same time you would expect cleanliness and a decent bed. The first night, the mattress kept sinking. The room was not clean and there was hair on the mattress. We were given another room on ground floor as I have a disability. The room again was dirty. Holes in the curtains. The bathroom floor was damaged had a hole underneath the flooring and I slipped and fell. On the plus side, staff were very kind and the restaurant omg food was amazing!!
We think the Star was one of the best hotels that we had stayed in for quite some time, the staff were very helpful and even squeezed us in for a meal on a Saturday without booking a table. We were a little anxious being in a crowded place so we were really pleased to be somewhere quiet named the Green room. The food was exceptional from the recently appointed head chef and I would happily recommend having a meal here and or staying the night.
Handy for our journey, we were phoned to make sure we arrived before 10.00pm . The website stated that if you didn’t get there by ten there was a pin pad to enter the hotel but didn’t mention that you couldn’t get into the room so we left our relatives early to get there before 10.00 so grateful to receptionist for a warning call.
We visited Melton for an evening meal and concert. It was sufficient as a stop over, no complaints and the staff were nice. It’s not a luxury hotel but good for getting your head down especially if you are working at distance.
Location of the Hotel and preservation its periodic nature. overall better than our expectations in the way of hospitality, cleanliness and quality of the basic breakfast we had.
