Gairloch Highland Lodge, hotel in Gairloch

With spectacular mountain views, Gairloch Highland Lodge overlooks Gairloch Harbor. It is a quiet base with a lounge, bar, free internet access and a drying room.

We were moved to the Old Inn because of maintenance issues. The Inn was very nice. They had a variety of both hot and cold items for breakfast. Dinner in the pub downstairs was very good. We discovered a walk next to the Inn to a waterfall which was quite nice.

The location is superb. The downstairs common rooms are great although I found the bar not too welcoming. The staff and food are great too.

Gairloch is lovely; we stayed two days and enjoyed our travels out and about in the area but would not return to this hotel again. Hated having to come back to it for the second night, whereas we should have been looking forward to it. We had to experience another night in a double bed that was two single beds put together (badly).... and that had two SINGLE quilts on top ????? - and then to wake up in the morning to a second breakfast - a repeat of the awful shambles the day before. So - Gairloch is a lovely place but this hotel is NOT recommended. Way overpriced and under delivers in all areas.

Great place with spectacular, inspiring scenery, a nice little town with good facilities, nice cafe and farm shop as well as an excellent museum. The only downside when we visited was the local chippy only opened on Thursday, Friday and Saturday!😊

Gairloch is an easily accessed centre from which to explore the western Highlands; it also has some very acceptable sandy beaches. There are plenty of hotels and B&Bs in Gairloch, but many are closed in winter.

The beach and camp site along the road was absolutely lovely, we paid £4 to park at the camp sight and took a lovely walk around the sight and the beach, definitely worth a look plenty for children to go there

Glass bottomed boat trip to see the seals highly recommended. Knowledgeable skipper who allowed some of the children to drive the boat and earn a certificate. Gairloch Museum, in a former nuclear bunker, is really well laid out and interesting for adults and children. The café is great too, with a view from its terrace. Don't miss Inverewe Garden, and allow several hours to walk around this surprising collection of trees & plants which really shouldn't be able to thrive here! Great views too.

Impressive looking building overlooking the bay. We bagged ourselves a Seaview room and what a view it was. The room was large, and so was the bed. Nice bathroom with bath and overhead shower. In the evening we ate in the hotel restaurant, the food and service were great and they were very accommodating when I requested gluten-free food. Nothing was too much. They had a local man playing the bagpipes outside early on and a singer inside later. If this isn't your thing then there was a lovely lounge area in the lobby that was so cosy.

This hotel overlooks a loch and is in a superb location for walkers, beach lovers and there is a golf course close by. There are several shops/cafes close by and the village is within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is big and spacious with comfortable reception areas. It has a restaurant serving good food and breakfast was a buffet with a good selection. Excellent for exploring the area.

Location and views amazing, on the flat to appreciate sea front, all staff genuinely friendly, very large room, massive bed (biggest on the whole NC500), good food with a mix of alternatives to fish, Hugh portions. Good breakfast. Not a boutique style decorated hotel but finished to a high standard compared to other hotels stayed in on this trip. Would like to return for a summer beach holiday.

Amazing location! We stopped here whilst travelling the NC500 on our honeymoon. Unfortunately, it was a flying visit, and we want to come back to explore the area. Our room had amazing views of the bay and we saw seals. The evening meal and breakfast were lovely. We also stayed at their sister hotel Forss House which was also lovely, they had amazing food!

We stayed for a single night on our trip round the NC500. Gairloch is an absolutely stunning location and our room (No 6) looked out over the bay. We had read mixed reviews of the hotel online, but were very happy with our stay. We ate in the hotel too and the food was lovely. We would happily return for another stay.

The view, the view, and the view. A few steps and you're literally in the water, much, much closer than local hotels. We slept with the window cracked open to listen to the sea. We will be back next year for sure. Gairloch is a stunning place in its own right with everything you need.

We appreciated the space and cleanliness of the room. The owners of this B&B are very kind (once again thanks for everything!). They think of everything. This B&B is also very close to the starting points of some interesting hikes near Gairloch.
