Auburn is a quiet village at the southern end of the Clare valley which makes it a great base for winery adventures and walking around - it is on the Riesling trail. There is a pub and a restaurant as well as a supermarket. The Rising Sun hotel does good dinners (just don’t expect your rare steak to come rare).Annette GoughAustralia - Scored 1010

Auburn is known as the Gateway to the Clare Valley Wine Region. Very handy base to visit multiple wineries & small, historic hamlets in the Valley. The Terrior Auburn Restaurant is a must-try experience!

We had an overnight stay in Auburn for a quick business trip...
We had an overnight stay in Auburn for a quick business trip, so we weren't there to look around at all. However, it is obviously a beautiful area! We had dinner at Sevenhill Hotel - fantastic venue. Our accommodation at Lyreen's was excellent and we will be remembering this B&B for future visits.

Auburn is ideally close to Clare, is at the start of the Reisling Trail, has a great little supermarket and a really nice vibe. Add to that we stayed at the amazing 'Cullen House', a perfect little piece of paradise. All made for an amazing, romantic weekend away.

So central to everything in the Clare Valley. Very easy to get aroundv- in fact we usually walked from our accommodation to the main street. The Riesling / Rattler Trail starts in Auburn at the old Railway Station.ChristinaAustralia

Auburn is a great place to stay to access all the treasures of the Clare Valley- history aplenty, beautiful scenery, wineries galore and so much more. It is central to the region, and quiet, with a few charms of its own. Check out the Rising Sun for great lunch and dinner options.
