Featuring 5 restaurants, a full service spa, and an indoor heated pool, this Kananakis lodge is within a 30-minute drive of Canmore city center. If you are able to book in advance and get great rates, it is definitely value for money, especially the buffet breakfast at Forte. Great customer service especially the check-in staff at reception, Angelyn.
Nakiska Ski Resort is located 0.9 mi from this Kananaskis hostel. A shared kitchen and barbecue facilities are provided on site. Free snowshoe rental is offered to all guests. Great space. Lots of washroom options. Able to leave your belongings in the communal kitchen.
Offering a restaurant and bar on site, Mount Engadine Lodge is located in Spray Valley Provincial Park in Kananaskis. A scenic view of the mountains is available. Free WiFi access is provided. The glamping tents are something else entirely. We were unsure wether they would keep us warm enough, but a propane stove was heating the place up in no time. The shower was nice, the bed was comfy and the view was phenomal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were freshly made, the choice was between sweet and hefty, both choises are delicious. Very nice is the idea two sit people of different tents, rooms and lodges together. We had really nice conversations we wouldn't have had otherwise.
Located in Kananaskis Village, Mount Kidd Manor at Kananaskis has a bar, tennis court and free WiFi throughout the property. I like the improvements to the hotel, the fires outside, free hot chocolate and s’mores, music, family and dog friendly- very nice to see all the dogs! Glad you kept that feature- it’s so important to us. The spa was great! Love the pool - our daughter loved it.
Located within the Copperstone Resort building, Rocky Mountain Getaway offers accommodations in Dead Man's Flats. The property is 5 mi from Canmore and free private parking is offered. Good location, lots of space and facilities, had everytbing we needed. Couldn't fault anything!
Kananaskis is beautiful. Staying in the village allows you to be close to the mountains and the hiking trails. There are also some nice walks and bicycle trails from the village itself. Unfortunately the village is a bit limited. There are two hotels and three restaurants, but they all seem to be owned by the same company. The place feels like one big resort and there is little variety there. A decent grocery store would be useful.
We had found a room out there as we'd been biking between Canmore and Banff and our regular spots were booked up. It was a little further off the highway than I remember, so you are stuck with limited supper options on property; they all happened to be busy at 8:30pm and we were not advised to have a reservation, so we had a very late supper. The worst part was that I was so looking forward to a soak in their hot tub, but it is under renovation so they only had two little (4 person max) rented hot tubs. When one opened up, the one we got in had had kids jumping into the pool then back to the hot tub, so it was lukewarm at best, and did not heat while we were in it. If I can afford to stay again I will wait until their new hot tub opens up.
This facility has lots to offer but it was crowded with families with kids - and the pool and hot tub area was so full there were no towels available and piles of used towels everywhere . It would be nice to visit in the summer or Fall to use the trails and other amenities as well . The drive in winter with new snow was a bit iffy as there were a few cars that ended up off the road .
Love the area, hotel and Nordic Spa. The pathways for walking are terrific. It’s not inexpensive so be prepared. Booking the Nordic Spa is difficult and for the amount one spends at the hotel, some spots should be kept open for hotel guests or purchased by the hotel for their guests to buy.
I loved the Chalet look of the rooms in Mount Kidd. The kids swimming area is really for under 9 years of age. The steam room is super hot, benches are uncomfortablely hot wet stone. Hot tub is warm. Outdoor dry sauna is cool. the fitness room is great as is the table tennis. The restaurants are booked up fast, but take out is an option. They have Cross country ski and skate rentals. I personally would stay not stay again as we live only one hour away. The outdoor activities are amazing which is why we would in the future come for the day and evening only.
It was very comfortable and the scenery was beautiful. Even though there was so much nature outside to explore we loved staying in our room with the fireplace and enjoying the view. We did get out and skate on the small rink in the centre of the village. The village is very romantic for couples but still perfect for families.
I like the improvements to the hotel, the fires outside, free hot chocolate and s’mores, music, family and dog friendly- very nice to see all the dogs! Glad you kept that feature- it’s so important to us. The spa was great! Love the pool - our daughter loved it.
So quiet and the bed is amazing. This hotel is just a courtyard away from the main lodge. Also parking was full and they offered us an underground spot! This time around there is a drastic improvement to the staff, everyone has been top notch!
Beautiful location. Clean rooms & comfortable bedding. Staff was very friendly. Dining tables were spaced well apart with assigned seating to meet Covid-19. Persons enjoying outdoor activities will appreciate this resort.
Beautiful setting. Nice walking paths around the hotel.
