It’s a place that invites you to slow down, soak in the scenery, and feel genuinely connected to nature and local life. However, the only negative to say is that many roads are not paved, which is due to the government's and private conflicts, for such a tourist area is a shame to see that. Super great local lake getaway vibes. Guatape is beautiful and the food is 10/10. It’s the complete opposite of the city though so it depends on what vibe you are looking for. I definitely would recommend staying at the Brown’s if you are spending a night or two in Guatape. The cabanas are private, have a beautiful view and are curated so well. You have everything you need for a luxurious, relaxing stay. We loved not ever needing to leave the cabana thanks to the extremely attentive staff and room service. A little tip if you’re arriving on the bus from Medellin - you can get off the bus in El Penol, which is much closer to the property than Guatape. Don’t bother reading any more reviews, just book it.
