The rooms were small but very comfortable and conveniently located. There was no parking on site but plenty nearby at reasonable rates. There was a nice lobby where guests could relax and read.

The room was a decent size, and had a mini-bar (which we didn't use) and a safe (which we didn't use). A couple more hangers in the wardrobe would have been useful, but we managed. The air-con was effective and quiet. Beds were comfortable. The shower was great. Hotel staff were were helpful and we were grateful for the left luggage room on our last day. The roof-top pool was lovely, though very cold! The hotel is in a great, quiet location, well placed for the ferry to Cadiz, and the river walk to the train station. There are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby - we loved the tour of the Osborne bodega. The Cafe Bar Sanluca, about five mins away, on Pl. del Polvorista welcomed us every morning, for a coffee and tostada. We enjoyed the food in every restaurant/tapas bar we ate in and look forward to our next trip to try more of them!

El Puerto, as it’s commonly called, is located just in front of Cádiz, offering golden sandy beaches kissed by the mixed waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. A lively harbour town, beach resort, rich legacy, and a lot of sun and fun make El Puerto de Santa María a great spot for your holiday.

According to legend, the city was founded around the year 1184 BC by the Athenian King Menestheus, just after the Trojan War. Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs occupied this area, as the reminders of the Phoenician settlement of ‘Doña Blanca’ show. Centuries later, commerce with the Americas brought new life and wealth to the city.

Perfumed by orange tree blossoms, the Old Town is adorned with Baroque architecture and cobblestone streets.     It was a tired and old town with many dilapidated buildings many of the bars and cafes did not open untill lunchtime making it difficult to get a coffee. The ferry to Cadiz was very cheap and Cadiz was well worth the visit

    A beautiful town full of wonderful trees, plants, nature and beautiful parks. Very friendly local people here and lovely old town with a lot of culture and history to explore. Plenty of great restaurants and an abundance of supermarkets! Lots to do and see. 30mins drive to Cadiz which is also beautiful and well worth a visit.

    It looks like a small run-down town but it is in fact a city, with some wonderful monuments to visit including a very old castle and a 17th century Bodega. You can walk everywhere, but you'd need a bus to most of the beaches - €1.20, every 15 minutes or so. El Puerto is on the main Sevilla-Cádiz railway line. Very old fashioned place, everything closes for the siesta from around 2 to 5. Not good for shopping, and very few new trendy bars or restaurants. But excellent seafood at reasonable prices and a friendly Irish pub, O'Donoghues. Beautiful old houses with lovely facades and an old-fashioned town park with old trees and cast iron benches. Much bigger than it seems at first, there are many suburbs, take a bus stirp to see them. All the buses have circular routes and you can get off again where you got on.

    The place is great for visit the wineries, seafood and close to Cadiz and the beaches. the people are kind and welcoming. The only issue is the parking situation; either the area is difficult for parking and heavily ticketed, or on the public parking there is no police presence and a few hawkers are harassing for you to pay for a ‘finding fee’ or else.

    A small town with plenty of history, particularly of the Sherry trade (Osborne in particular). Small enough to walk around comfortably, though there seemed to be no shortage of taxis. Uncrowded (late April). Many good restaurants and bars. Very convenient for travel to Cadiz and Jerez.

    I really wish I could have stayed at this hotel longer—it was such a beautiful space! My room was absolutely exceptional: large and spacious with high ceilings, tons of bright light from the big windows, and a fantastic shower and bathroom. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the hotel staff were warm and welcoming. I would have loved more time to explore all the stunning areas within the hotel as well—they’re truly gorgeous!
