Serenity and close to nature.Amazing and attentive staff from the reception desk to the restaurant and to the kitchen area.The delectable restaurant spread with lots of choices.The outdoor activities was great. Ice fishing with Justin and Zali was the best and one of the highlights our stay.They were a tandem of professionalism with excellent work ethics,They also put safety first as the priority. Loved the personalized service we received from Reception. He answered all of our many questions! Breakfast was delicious and loved that there was a restaraunt connected to the facility as well. The spa was closed, but was able to book multiple massages that were amazing! Our apartment was lovely! Loved that the bus dropped us off right by our location from the airport in Ivalo.

We have been to other aurora cabins in Finland in Inari before. Their cabins are further apart. We did actually see aurora inside the cabin. I would imagine if the cabins were too close, this would not have been possible

    Saariselka is a wonderland in winter.

    Saariselka is a wonderland in winter. You can easily get all the required things such as food from K-market. There are lots of activities you can do in Saariselka such as skiing, snowshoeing, Ice Karting, bowling, Aurora Hunting tours, etc. You can easily reach here from Rovaniemi City by using public bus. There is a Ski bus that runs between Saariselka village and Saarselka Ski resort. I did my beginner ski lesson here. It was great. I spent my Christmas holidays here and most things are available to do. I did my skiing on Christmas day itself.

    We spent a total of 7 days in Lapland. 2 near Ivalo, 3 in Kiilopaa, 2 in Saariselka proper. As a family some liked Ivalo better, others Kiilopaa, and others Saariselka. We stayed for 7 days to maximize our chances to see the Northern Lights and were fortunate to see them for 2 nights in a row. If we weren’t concerned about seeing Northern Lights, in terms of special “Lapland specific” experiences, I would have been satisfied with maybe 2 or 3 nights (husky, reindeer, snowmobile, ice fishing). But, if you spend extra days, there’s plenty to do — ice karting, cross country ski, snow shoe-Ing, ski/snowboarding, Siida museum, etc.

    Amazing resort away from the hustle and bustle and commerciality of busier Lapland resorts. Lovely nature walks, lots of family activities like husky rides, skiing, snow shoeing etc. and very cost accommodation.

    Saariselka was fabulous in August, there were very few other tourists around so it was lovely and quiet. Lots of people drive up to the highest point for the sunset but our Glass Cube was just a few hundred metres away, on the other side of the hill, so we could just saunter up to enjoy the view. Met reindeer on the way back.

    Its very very Beautiful ,Do the Northern Lights chasing & the Husky Rides with Arctic Timetravels . They are the best. Saariselka is Untouched, amazing & virgin. Difficult to express in words as you should visit to feel the place, its Heaven on Earth.

    If you're going skiing, Saariselkä is a good option and you can stay there for a week, for example. If you are looking for the Northern Lights, maybe 3 nights would be ok, but you you should pray for good weather, with clear skies, and , of course, for the aurora to appear.

    We fell in love with this small cottage 6’ away from Saariselka, in the middle of the Lappish forest. The structure is very cleaned and fitted with everything necessary, including a private sauna, a fireplace, wood for the fire, and sleighs. Right behind the house is a clearing with no light pollution where we could see the northern lights. The owner is very kind and available. Highly recommended for a magical stay.

    The property is located in top of Kaunispaa fell far from light pollution and is a perfect spot of aurora enthusiast. Staff were excellent and would help us anytime to make our stay pleasant. Saariselka is a small place and Star Arctic is a perfect choice to spend some quiet time. Inari is an hour away and is an easy drive. They arrange good reindeer farm experience and had an excellent breakfast spread.
