Very pleasant customer service. Its a little pricey, but over all great place. If your price is 30 dollars a night i will go back September for a week.

My room (20) in the attic had a fascinating view over the distant Thames Estuary, though most rooms wouldn't have this. The bed and room were clean and comfortable. The price was low - okay, the bannister knobs need a coat of paint, etc, but this did not make me wish I'd paid more to go elsewhere. It was quiet during the night (advantage of an attic room perhaps).

The room upgrade was a great surprise

The Manager was just Lovely!!! And the location was excellent,close to the town,beach and train station 😀The Manager prepared a wonderful full English breakfast for us and the history of the hotel was also great!! Many thanks to Raj the Manager,His Hospitality was wonderful!!

We stayed at The Palace Hotel in Southend-on-Sea with our dog for several weeks while waiting to take possession of our new home in London, and had a genuinely positive experience throughout. Southend itself is not the classiest place (we didn’t know what to expect, we just wanted to be coastal for the transition period as the weather was expected to be hot, but still needed easy transport links to central London for work). One of the standout features was the flexibility to work from the café/restaurant, which offered great sea views, reliable air conditioning, and consistently good food and beverage service. It made for a comfortable and productive environment during longer stays, supported by friendly and attentive staff. The front desk team were exceptionally welcoming, with Toby in particular going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. His local recommendations were spot on—we ended up visiting Leigh-on-Sea multiple times for dinner and completely understand why it is so popular. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and comfortable, even if fairly standard in finish. The hotel is well located, making it easy to get around the area, and we especially appreciated the proximity to several excellent parks and beaches for long walks with our dog—Gunners Park being a highlight.

Was looking for a relaxing week near water to to relax and catch up with friends. The Ship was the perfect answer. Hotel is lovely. Directly across the street from Leigh-on-Sea. Staff went above and beyond. Food was delicious. Room was everything I could have asked for. Will be back.

Staying at the Roslin Beach Hotel was an absolute joy. When we booked our trip to the UK last November we wanted a hotel that was close to our daughter & son-in-law. It is a small boutique hotel (62 rooms) situated in a lovely neighborhood. Since we don’t travel often, we like to treat ourselves when we do & the Roslin did not disappoint. We decided to book an ‘executive king with sea view & balcony’ for April & our daughter laughed since the weather in April is usually quite cool & rainy. Well, Mother Nature was on our side and for 10 glorious days & nights we were treated to sunshine & warm temperatures. We used that balcony every morning & evening and the view of the sea was spectacular. The room was large & beautifully decorated with a sitting area, desk & large screen TV. The spacious bathroom had both a Victorian clawfoot tub and a large shower with a rainfall shower head. Other amenities included a blow dryer, iron & ironing board, safe, mini bar, robes & slippers and a coffee maker & kettle with a selection of coffees, teas & biscuits. At the time of booking we decided to get a full breakfast included and we were so glad we did. The breakfast room was sunny & inviting and the food was always fresh and delicious. Our favourite dish was the waffles wth fresh fruit & cream but there was a large selection to choose from & the continental breakfast (included for all guests) had a large selection of pastries & fresh orange juice as well. Lea always greeted us with a warm & friendly smile and also was kind enough to arrange for us to get our breakfast early the last morning as we needed to get to the airport early(Gatwick) which was several hours away. All the servers & staff especially Zamira (Xamira?) & Mihayla (Mihaila?)(sorry if I’ve misspelled your names) were friendly & attentive and always made sure to find us the perfect table by a window.
