The Vines is in Black Bourton not Alvescot which is the ajoining village. It is however well signposted and social distancing and Covid sanitation facilities were in place. We enjoyed our stsy very much.
A lovely country retreat with peace and quiet yet handy for lots of surrounding attractions. Made to feel very welcome and treated like a guest in a family home. I would go there again if the chance comes up.
there was nothing we did not like. very comfortable, good food and a warm cheery welcome by Karen. All was very comfortable and clean and in a lovely location. Great for exploring the Cotswold area. Well worth a visit by anyone.
Visited the area as friends live close by and were having a party. Location was ok however we needed a taxi from our friends (about 3 miles away) back to the hotel as it was too far to walk at night in the dark. Told a three hour wait..... our home town in the North West is only three hours away !!!!! Please consider this if you need a taxi..... luckily somebody at the party's son took us back......
Lovely town, just a shame we were only there for one day as would have liked to have seen more and done a few walks. People very friendly. Parked in Riverside pub at Lechlade recommended by our son which had lovely riverside were you could hire row boats. Parking fee was a little steep. £6 for four hours although you did get refund of £4 if meal was purchased in the pub which were lovely and value for money.Found another pub that had beer festival so enjoyed a drink there too. Would definitely like to visit for longer next time as didn't get time to see all the sites and some lovely countryside.
Close to busy bustle'y places like Burford and Bourton on the Water (crowded but beautiful) Would in future find good restaurant in Burford to eat as opposed to pub. Can't remember the pub but food was awful and expensive.
Fantastic host and great staff
