Awful, staff were awful and very basic. Extremely noisy woken up several time which doesn’t happen often, what’s worse it was staff making the noise at reception over 100yards away!! Got charged extra even though they were told we might arrive earlier and was told it would be fine! I used to love days inn as a brand and had great memories when used on holiday. This experience left me disgusted as staff were not bothered, rude and inconsiderate. Would rather sleep in my car now
The staff were very friendly. The bedding was clean and pillow were fine. The room was fine (back of hotel) The bathroom was not the best although clean lots of mould. The toilet system sounded like it was going to take off every time you ran the water or used the loo and lasted for about 5 mins. The bath was very very bouncy.. Breakfast is a non starter - carton of juice/pack croissant/yogurt and apple. Its on the A1 (Hinxworth) NOT the Baldock services. You have to go up the A1 to come down to get into the hotel and getting out is a nightmare as the A1 is so busy.
The staff at the hotel are amazing. they supported me through a very difficult family time. they helped above and beyond their role. the facilities around the hotel are excellent and the hotel was very clean and tidy with a positive vibe.
We didn't spend long in the town as we used the Days Inn as a sleeping base, travelling to Norfolk one day, then RAF Duxford the next, but what I saw of the town I liked. Lovely Georgian facades to the buildings with a mix of medieval, lots of interesting looking shops. The Tesco Extra at Baldock is in an old factory building and the facade is amazing!
Had children in the next room that had me up early hours on the Sunday morning. Check out was 10.30 and I would’ve preferred a little later as it’s Sunday and the kids had me awake early. The shower was nice and hot, just too hot it burnt and then went cold when I tried to add a bit of cold water. The heater in my room was the same as the shower, really hot or not hot enough so I ended up leaving it off the first night and I froze, the second night I woke up sweating. I wasn’t expecting the ritz for such a cheep stay I did however want a good nights sleep which I didn’t get and I had a track day booked the next day which I was knackered for. Overall I think it’s safe to say I won’t be staying again. Thanks though
We didn't spend much time in the town, but it was clean, tidy with good eating places. Very wide High Street. Ideal base for seeing other places. Car parking only free in High Street between 5pm and 9am, so if planning to spend the daytime in the town, you need to park in the pay car park.
However he did a great job and we felt very welcome and could understand his problems. Small issues that arise in every hotel room were dealt with very quickly and the place had a warm welcoming.atmosphere. The owner went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay.
