This 15th-century farmhouse has stone floors, original wood beams and real fireplaces. It is in quiet gardens and has free Wi-Fi, free parking and individually decorated rooms with attached bathroom.
The property was a beautifully restored, 600 year old manor house. The comfort areas, like the bathrooms and dining areas, have been modernized yet the building itself, like the large fireplace, beams, and garden, have retained most of its picturesque features.

Staff was great and very helpful. Rooms were very clean and tidy, room service every day. Great full english breakfast plus fruit, cereal, toast with tea and coffee. Only complaint I have is very low water pressure on garden view rooms.
I know Banbury very well and have always found it a charming Cotswolds town full of interesting buildings, pubs, good dining choices and so on. it is compact and so easy to get around and it is a good centre for exploring neighbouring counties, Wks, etc
Banbury is a good place to visit has plenty to see loads of shopping facilities plenty of place’s to eat and drink The Cromwell lodge is in an excellent position but the hotel is in need of updating
I was surprised by Banbury, it was a busy bustling place and had lots of pubs! It was a friendly place and we used it as a base to venture out for golf over a long weekend and it suited that well. Lots of old buildings to admire but plenty of modern coffee houses and shops if you want them. Very enjoyable.
No one should go near the place. It's got a 'To Let' sign outside and is being run down for sale. The interior is scruffy: chipped woodwork & stained carpets. My room had no curtains (photo below). The 'wardrobe' was a wooden bracket with four coat-hangers hanging from it.(Photo below) There was no room to stand on either side of the bed. (photo below). No bedside light. Nearby church clock striking loudly every hour. Awful. A complete tip-off.
The hosts Mike and Barbara were delightful and went out of their way to help when I left a dress behind ! The breakfast was superb too. High quality bed linen and towels too and home made shortbread . Very convenient location in characterful house
