Originally a 17th-century coaching inn, The Mercure Banbury Whately Hall is set in its own gardens and has a croquet lawn. It has an on-site restaurant with free Wi-Fi, a bar and free parking. The Staff were so helpful, friendly and really welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was beyond expectation and we really have raved about this place since returning home. The rooms were so spacious and we had a great nights sleep with a really reasonable check out time, unlike other hotels. The decor of the over hotel was beautiful

This historic coaching inn dates back to before the English Civil War. Just 3 miles from Banbury, there is a traditional bar, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the village green. Well located and the staff were helpful and went beyond my expectations to resolve a minor issue with my room. This made all the difference to a stay that would have disappointed to one that exceeded expectations.

The majestic 17th-century Cromwell Hotel is in the center of historic Banbury. It has a restaurant, a bar, limited free parking and free WiFi. We arrived slightly early so we could go for a walk in the afternoon, prior to the event we were attending in the evening. There was no problem leaving our car in the car park, and checking a bit later. Also the same the next day after check out, we were able to leave our car whilst we had a look around the shops. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the the bed was awesome, better than the one at home!

A family-run bed and breakfast located a 15-minute walk from the center of Banbury, Ashlea has free Wi-Fi throughout, thoughtfully decorated bedrooms and an inviting breakfast menu. The personel is amazing, I accidentally left my electric toothbrush and just an hour after I checked out I got a call from them that they've got it in reception if I want to pick it up. Most hotels would just toss that out. Fantastic breakfast, best omlette I've had!

The New LOCK 29 is a nice extra we wasn't expecting, and the new buildings being built by the quay look like they will make a nice added look to Banbury. The shops are nice and the shopping centre is very clean, and it has working clean toilets, something that a lot of towns could take note of.
We stayed in Banbury to go walking which was a central location to explore. We found there was a good selection of pubs and restaurants, many supermarkets within easy reach of the town. Looked like there was good out of town shopping.
Sadly being Sunday Banbury was mostly closed. I have not been here for many years and felt the town was lacking something. Probably Covid and high street closures havn't helped. Still a pleasant town.
Plenty of places to eat & drink. Good location for visiting places of interest. Used train to visit Oxford only 20 minute journey. Nothing to complain about. It's the second time we have stayed in Banbury and we have enjoyed our stay on both occasions.
For dog owners, I highly recommend this. Marylnn & her beautiful home & garden made our stay very comfortable especially when we were new dog owners & our first little holiday with Chibs our 9 month old dog. Thank you very much.
This was a nostalgia trip for us. We lived in Banbury when it was still a market town. It is so much bigger now that new housing estates have surrounded the old town. The famous Cross and old buildings are still there, but the animal market has gone, which is a shame because it was quite a big one in its day. We would have liked to see Broughton Castle as we had lived in Broughton prior to moving to Torquay. However, cars were not allowed in the grounds, but we were not physically able to walk the long driveway, so had to give it a miss.

Sian is a great host, on hand of you need her yet she doesn't intrude on your space. Avonleigh is well located for all that you need to visit in Banbury. A small guest house with parking, very well maintained rooms, homemade flapjacks on the welcome tray. Breakfast is what ever you so desire and cooked to perfection. Sian also allows you to keep any specialist dietary foods in the breakfast room fridge. This is the second time that i have stayed here whilst visiting family in the area and it won't be the last! Great value for money.

The hosts were extremly helpful and friendly. We were booked for tuesday night which is the night off for the restaurant; we were informed of this beforehand so went to Banbury to a restaurant. Therefore we can't comment on the restaurant facilities, but if the breakfast was an indicator then we missed a treat! we both felt that the accomodation was above and beyond our expectations. Thouroughly recommend and would definitely go there again if we visit the area again.
I stayed for one night and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It has a very safe car park, the single room I booked was spacious and spotless and a lovely shower. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the beer wasn't bad either! I don't know what brreakfast was like as I was out early to work but I had a main meal and would recommend everyone to try the lamb hotpot pie....It's superb. Next time I'm in Banbury I'm booking here.
What a beautiful village this hotel is set in. The hotel itself is so quaint and refurbished to a high standard. There are some areas that need some attention but it's an old building at the end of the day. They were short staffed but the staff that were on duty worked really hard and were very friendly and welcoming. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and the food was lovely and well presented.
Banbury
Spotlessly clean, adequate for our needs, bed was really comfortable and clean, could not complain at all, Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked, annexed room a little small was our only very small criticism but would not stop us coming back again, the couple running Fairlawns Matt and his wife are really curtious and friendly, we would definitely recommend this quest house in Banbury.
The hotel was in a central location near shops and cafes. The rooms were very well presented. Most of the staff were very helpful. The staff served dinner in the bar as the dinning room had a party in it. The evening meal was very good and well presented. It was easy to park behind the hotel.
Banbury
On the positive side, the unit was well located for touring English National Trust site within forty-five miles. The unit is actually located in Bodicote, which is right next to Banbury. The television, which did not have a DVD player, did have buttons for NETFLIX and, I believe, Amazon Primetime.
Friendly welcome. Comfy bed and large room and bathroom. Proper mugs for a proper cuppa. Loads of milk and tea bags. Ideal location to explore Banbury and the surrounding area. The hotel is only five minutes walk from the town centre. Good parking. Good value for my money.
Banbury
The location was good in principle as it was on the outskirts of Banbury but it’s right on the only busy road so you can head cars all night long. It’s louder than our central London home.
The staff were very welcoming, the room was very clean. The hotel clearly has a lot of history, a lot of quirky corridors.
Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. Would recommend.
