Hotel in Banbury
Originally a 17th-century coaching inn, The Mercure Banbury Whately Hall is set in its own gardens and has a croquet lawn. It has an on-site restaurant with free Wi-Fi, a bar and free parking. The Staff were so helpful, friendly and really welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was beyond expectation and we really have raved about this place since returning home. The rooms were so spacious and we had a great nights sleep with a really reasonable check out time, unlike other hotels. The decor of the over hotel was beautiful

Set in the beautiful honeystoned thatched village of Wroxton, this privately owned award-winning hotel is 18 miles from the historic Stratford-upon-Avon and 21 miles from Warwick Castle. The service was outstanding. I literally couldn't fault it! The staff couldn't have done anything more for us. Wow wow and wow! Literally incredible !

This historic coaching inn dates back to before the English Civil War. Just 3 miles from Banbury, there is a traditional bar, a restaurant and rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the village green. Very clean and staff were so helpful and friendly. The prices of room and food were very reasonable for the quality and we’d definitely stay again.

This 15th-century farmhouse has stone floors, original wood beams and real fireplaces. It is in quiet gardens and has free Wi-Fi, free parking and individually decorated rooms with attached bathroom. Lovely staff to welcome me to the property. Very nice and clean rooms presented immaculately and good amenities available. Felt homely and comfortable.

A family-run bed and breakfast located a 15-minute walk from the center of Banbury, Ashlea has free Wi-Fi throughout, thoughtfully decorated bedrooms and an inviting breakfast menu. Location for visiting The Cotswolds very good. Easy walk, if wanted, to Banbury town centre. Excellent, safe parking. Very large comfortable beds. Lovely breakfast. Great hosts.
The town itself is like any other town centre these days A bit run down in places but the location on the cotswolds is ideal There are a lot of great villages surrounding the town which are the best to stay in
Banbury is a short distance away and has lots of restaurants, pubs and cafes. Ye Olde Reine Deer is worth visiting and serves the most delicious luxurious homemade macaroni cheese. Their homemade fruit crumble is also excellent. Wroxton village has many characterful thatched properties, though unfortunately its two old stone built public houses are both closed.
I had been to Banbury many years ago, it was interesting go see how it had changed. There is a nice new shopping centre with an area for food with musical entertainment ìn the evenings which was enjoyable. 2 days was long enough for this time of year. Too many empty shops including Debenhams. A problem in most places at the present. 3 Colours restaraunt was fabulous.
The New LOCK 29 is a nice extra we wasn't expecting, and the new buildings being built by the quay look like they will make a nice added look to Banbury. The shops are nice and the shopping centre is very clean, and it has working clean toilets, something that a lot of towns could take note of.
We stayed in Banbury to go walking which was a central location to explore. We found there was a good selection of pubs and restaurants, many supermarkets within easy reach of the town. Looked like there was good out of town shopping.
Sadly being Sunday Banbury was mostly closed. I have not been here for many years and felt the town was lacking something. Probably Covid and high street closures havn't helped. Still a pleasant town.

Sian is a great host, on hand of you need her yet she doesn't intrude on your space. Avonleigh is well located for all that you need to visit in Banbury. A small guest house with parking, very well maintained rooms, homemade flapjacks on the welcome tray. Breakfast is what ever you so desire and cooked to perfection. Sian also allows you to keep any specialist dietary foods in the breakfast room fridge. This is the second time that i have stayed here whilst visiting family in the area and it won't be the last! Great value for money.
Banbury
Our hosts, Mike and Barbara were exceptional. We were able to check in early which gave us a head start for the day. The room was very well appointed, clean and well stocked. We had a room facing the road and had no issues with noise. You just need to be attentive as you approach the hotel as the road to the entrance looks more like an alleyway so can be missed. Location was great, 2 lovely pubs within walking distance of the hotel. We were close enough to Banbury and Oxford for day trips too. Highly recommended.
Banbury
The dining room had views onto the garden, was beautfully furnished with elegant table settings. The breakfast was traditional English breakfast and was very good. Continental style breakfast was not on the menu. The waitress was very pleasant and gave good service. The building is an old farmhouse and is a welcome change from a modern hotel. It was character and was comfortable. It is very near the historic end of Banbury and has car parking on site.
Attitude and friendliness of all staff who couldn't do enough for us. Cleanliness of the hotel throughout all areas was excellent, one of the cleanest places where we have ever stayed. Lovely white fluffy towels and plenty of hot water. There was also more than adequate seating throughout the hotel. Everywhere was well decorated and tasteful. Plenty of car parking space which was important.
5 min walk from all of the hustle and bustle of Banbury. Perfect location. It was 27 degrees and only fans in the room. We asked if there were any extra fans available, upon our reign a huge industrial fan in our room and a perfect temperature. Can't recommended this hotel enough. The receptionist Darota just an amazing young lady, can't do enough to help you. Superb!

Friendly welcome and fully adaptable to our needs. Having allocated rooms in different area of building host saw the group included grandchildren so immediately offered rooms close together. Due to our early start next day supplied excellent breakfast bags for us to take away when we left early next day.
Banbury
On the positive side, the unit was well located for touring English National Trust site within forty-five miles. The unit is actually located in Bodicote, which is right next to Banbury. The television, which did not have a DVD player, did have buttons for NETFLIX and, I believe, Amazon Primetime.
It’s location is in the heart of BANBURY and is great for visiting the town. A quick cab ride from the station. Shops are across the street with plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area. The in-house pub has a good selection of beers on tap and great food
Banbury
Excellent location in the North of the Cotswolds - one of the best villages in the area. Good proximity to Banbury, Oxford, Warwick and Stratford. Lot of character to the cottage and area. Comfortable beds. Well equipped kitchen.

Breakfast was very nice. Waitresses very friendly. Restaurant dining area very clean and comfortable. Good location for hotel. Lovely village. Beds very comfy Good price. Check out was easy and friendly
There was no one at the hotel to check in or check out. It was very odd and felt like there was no one to deal with issues or questions.
I thought the reception staff and manager excellent Perhaps the menu could give more variety The food I had was excellent
everything was beautiful, hotel was beautiful and historic! staff was amazing! so personal and likeable! 100% id go back!
