The hosts Joanne and Adam were very kind and helpful. They were both ready to provide useful information and advice for the surrounding areas. The hotel is simple and clean, and the breakfast they offer starts the day perfectly. They make me want to visit Bangor again!

Property absolutely faultless inside and out. Spotlessly clean. Lovely bedding and towels. All kitchen equipment you could need and all spotless. Loved the fact they had a full set of garden dinnerware. Bbq outside. Handy hose for washing down wellies or dogs. House warm and cosy and very spacious. Lots of thoughtful touches like a basket of blankets to keep warm, games for children, welcome hamper on arrival. Owner checked on us during week to make sure everything was ok. Very quiet location and would be stunning in summer.

A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!

Like many, many towns and villages in North Wales, Bangor...

Like many, many towns and villages in North Wales, Bangor could be a mecca for visitors and could rival any honeypot in Britain. Could. For some reason, either by deliberate design or accident, most of this potential goes unrealised, so that towns are not just 'quiet' - they are borderline dreary, with boarded up shops and a sense of desolation. We like Bangor Tandoori and I think there are some nice cafes, and we have often enjoyed evening strolls round the university and the quite lanes near the pier, but we would only really view Bangor as a base for visiting the Snowdonia mountains.

Disappointing, very run down with lots of empty shop units. Easy to park. Very few shops overall. Could be a lovely location but needs investment to improve the area. A shame as I am sure a lot of tourists would visit if it had more to offer.

There is some interesting architecture and the pier but Bangor itself feels a bit rundown. Really struggled to find good places to eat and drink. However, it's a great location for exploring the wider area.

Not much going on but we only used it as a strategic location. i woukld not go there just to see bangor. Didn't seem like much was going on. we didn't see enough of Bangor to give a full review but on what i did see, i would not go back, not even as a strategic location for access to wales.

The main part of the town is very run-down, lots of empty shops, dirty, lots of rubbish in the streets. We have only been to the bus station at Bangor before, not stayed there, but will definitely not visit again. There are better shops and pubs closer to the train station at the other end of the town.

The Centre was not very busy and for the three nights we dined alone. Despite this the full menu was provided and the quality of the food was excellent. Our room was spacious with a nice view over the Straits. Comfy bed and spotless ensuite. At a very cold time of the year in Wales the heating was exceptional.

The area is a quiet place. It does not feel like a B&b or a stuffy hotel. The lodge is very close to the A55 which takes you easily around N. Wales. It feels more like a home from home has everything you will need. The owners are very welcoming and informative about the area and where to visit.
