Bedale is a a small market town in the Yorkshire Dales.
Bedale is a a small market town in the Yorkshire Dales.
It has a few hotels and cafeterias. We had an all day breakfast at the Lazy Dog cafeteria, where dogs are welcome, and you will find Daisy the friendly resident dog Daisy, greeting customers and their dogs.
A small market operates on Tuesdays, and gift shops abound.
Many beautiful walks in the area, a regular bus service from Northallerton is provided .
Chat with the friendly locals in the bars, cafes, or eat at the restaurants.
Bedale is well worth a visit to explore the surrounding dales.

Bedale lies at the eastern end of Wensleydale - as such it is a very good base for exploring both Wensleydale and Swaledale. It's also not far from other attractive places such as Masham, Ripon or even York.

We stayed just outside of Beldale, our accommodation (The Woodman Inn) was in Burneston. A lovely quiet village about 5 miles from Beldale. Beldale town centre was a lively place, with plenty of shops but parking could be difficult.

Lovely Typical Dales Market Town , Can buy all what’s required lots of various shops and plenty places to eat plenty choice . But I did live around this area many years ago with extended family short term so maybe abut Biased .
But plenty to see and do .

Area is superb. Very Yorkshire! Top views everywhere. No litter, grafiti and clean. great 'Local' shops and choice to eat and drink. great friendy folk. Other towns are easy to drive to so a great location if you want to visit other locals. Very few pot holes !
We has 4 days of Sunshine! No rain.

We didnt spend long in Bedale because we went on a Sunday on our way home, but found a lovely cafe for coffee and cake. It was an interesting place would go back to spend longer when we not in a rush

Lovely lively pub in the centre of Bedale. We enjoyed a tasty dinner down in the bar which is dog friendly.
The staff were very friendly and so were the locals.
Our room 4 was nicely decorated and furnished, clean and comfortable. It looked onto the rear of the pub which made it quiet.
The bed was really comfy with good quality linen. The bathroom was compact but adequate.
Breakfast was nice could have done with slightly more choice on the continental side for the price point.
Great stay and would recommend.

We had a great time in this lovely cottage in the friendly town of Bedale. (The extra little treats were most welcomed!) Parking (payable) just behind the cottage. A short walk through an alleyway into the town where all the necessary amenities are close by with a good selection of shops, cafes, and pubs. There's a lovely riverside walk nearby. The town is very dog friendly.
A big thank you to the Boothroyds for their hospitality!

Welcoming host and very homely accommodation. The room and the bed were very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, very substantial and freshly bought ingredients. In a lovely rural location handy for the A1(M) it was ideal for my stopover on the way down from Scotland. It would be a great base for exploring North Yorkshire.

Perfect little property....total privacy and isolation in middle of a field....just lovely. However only also a 10 min walk into Bedale and all facilities!. A marvelous base to explore the Dale's.very much recommend.
