I loved the bed and the large TV that connects to our phone and Netflix, without the hassle of having to log in or out. The Rooms vibe and design is truly fabulous. The shower has hot towels and plenty of fragrant body wash and shampoo available for guests. The reception area is also very stylish and elevated. The room is clean and cosy! Would definitely recommend!

The location was well placed for us, and it was easy to jump on the main tram. I cannot emphasize this enough. We should have stayed more nights. For the same price as some central accomodations you get to sleep on a boat. Cleanliness was top notch, and everything on the ship was well put together and design wise spoke to each other. Staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast area is beautiful. The bathroom looks amazing. You will not see such tiling in real buildings.

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

We only had 26hrs in Edinburgh but made the most of it as my hubby had limited mobility due to recent surgery. Accommodation was excellent and an easy walk to the theatre and hop on hop off bus stops. We did the Official City Tour and stayed on the bus for the entire route which was approx. 70 mts. We then got off at our chosen spot and left our luggage at Waverley station before ambling over North Bridge and turning right to walk the pedestrianised part of the Royal Mile up to the Castle. On route we stopped for coffee and later sat in the sun for lunch and enjoyed some excellent Chowder in a bread bowl. We then made our way back to the station for our 4 hr journey home.

Arrived early Friday and left fairly early Sunday.

Arrived early Friday and left fairly early Sunday. Could definitely have stayed longer - at least a day. Such a wide choice of interesting places to visit - something for everyone. The guided tours of the Castle and Three Bridge tours were fantastic - well worth doing. Easy access to transport and excellent options to purchase City passes which were really good value and well worth researching before you arrive. Highly recommend a Hop on hop off Bus Tour to get a sense of the layout of the city. So much to see and a fabulously warm and friendly place. I will definitely be coming back. Be sure to bring layers of clothing as weather is changeable. The Alpine Coaster was amazing - an absolute must do! Still so many things to see and do - a lovely city break.

Edinburgh is a small and easily walkable city if you don’t mind the hills (if you do then there are lots of buses) Lots to do and see even if you don’t visit during a festival. My favourite places to visit are the cultural spaces - the museum of Scotland has a bonkers range of exhibits from Pictish carvings to the Millenium Clock (chimes every hour, go watch!); the museum of Modern Art has a fabulous core collection and sits just by the Waters of Leith which is a lovely shady walk on hot days and the Scottish Poetry Library is lovely and has really helpful staff who will help you find whatever you are looking for in their collections!

There is so much to see in Edinburgh, museums, art galleries, Holyrood House, the castle, The Royal Mile, Princes Street, the zoo and much more. There are pubs, bars, restaurants, cafes and the Playhouse Theatre. It is so rich in history and culture. One visit will never be enough. On your first visit, do not be alarmed by a loud explosion at 1.00pm. It is just the one o’clock gun from the castle.

This was a return stay for us as we stayed in 2024. This is a fantastic hotel set in a secure area within walking distance of the city centre. 30 minutes gets you to the royal mile at a leisurely pace. The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of their way to get the room which would suit us best. We were in room 104 and thanks to the American lady in front desk for her assistance in choosing an airy room. The hotel also had passes for the nearby gym which was excellent. All in all a great stay.

Hotel was modern, excellent facilities and location. Swimming pool was fab. Few minutes walk to tram line which takes your directly into Edinburgh City or From Edinburgh airport. KFC & Krispy Kreme Donuts directly across road. We had our car with us so we had chosen here for the car parking facilities rather than city centre, however I would have no hesitation staying here again if I was to fly over as tram line is so so convenient and cheap.

There are several room options. We choose one with a private bathroom. It's small but has everything to sleep and shower and has free parking outside making it relatively cheap for the city. There's good bus links right outside and it takes about 20-30 mins to most city centre locations. It's best for people looking for a stop off point to go out in Edinburgh
