Very nice place, with a very accomodating host and staff, in an absolutely beautiful location. The room was comfortable, the food delicious, they had a lot of tips available about interesting activities/tours/etc in the area, even helped us book taxis at a convenient time. The surrounding neighborhood is super pretty and it's a 10 minute walk to the river. Great stay.

FAQs about hotels in Inverness

Gateway to the Highlands and Loch Ness

A jewel with historic buildings and charming streets, Inverness is surrounded by a typical Scottish Highland landscape. It is located 10 km from Loch Ness, along the mouth of the Ness River and the Moray Firth coast. It is regarded as the northernmost city in the United Kingdom, and capital of the Highlands.

Take a walk around the Old Town, visit St Andrew’s Cathedral, and make a stopover in the charming Victorian Market. The Old High St Stephen's Church is the oldest building in town, and has been a religious site since pre-Christian times.

The Inverness Castle overlooks the river and is nowadays the seat of the Sheriff Court. A hotel in Inverness city centre is ideal to enjoy the different cultural and recreational activities in town.

Watch the Atlantic salmon jumping out the river near the Ness Islands, and try to catch a glimpse of the famous monster of Loch Ness. The Cairngorms National Park is 40 km away, and Chanonry Point is the best spot to watch dolphins, just 24 km away.

Inverness hotels include a large offer of small, cosy guest houses, B&B’s, and rural cottages, allowing a closer contact with the nature. Don’t miss the Inverness accommodation deals on Booking.com!

Inverness is a fantastic city, compact and easy to walk around with a good selection of shops. Everyone is welcoming. I'd recommend the Ness Walk and Islands. There are some great restaurants, that do early bird offers. I also did a Loch Ness day tour which was good. Unfortunately i didn't have time to do any other tours. As a solo traveller I felt quite safe walking around Inverness. The Castle was still being restored, but that's on my to do list next time.

I was with my 9yr old daughter so we didn’t see much except the cinema (Vue) and Whin Park and Leisure Centre. All of which are fine and well worth a visit and very close by. The river Ness which runs right through Inverness is very picturesque. We highly recommend the Ness Island mini Railway and the boating pond which are both in Whin Park. The kids playground there is very good and has recently been replaced with new apparatus. There’s a good cafe there too.

Everything! The location is off the beaten track - time to unwind. The spa was amazing, and the views 😍. I got up early enough to see the sunrise 🌅 We got to see deer and rabbits 🦌🐇 We had a fire 🔥 The local treats were delicious 😋 If this was the only place I stayed when I visited Scotland, I wouldn't be unhappy. Close to Inverness for shopping. It had everything we needed. Thank you 🥰

We stayed at the hotel whilst enjoying the East coast of Scotland. The hotel is in a great location just past Inverness and right on the front. Our room had a great view! The bed was very comfy and our evening meal there was fantastic. A really great value hotel for a short stay. There is parking at the hotel and on the roadside. Check-in and out was very easy.

This boutique hotel is beautiful and set in what may well be the most beautiful village in Scotland. The staff are extremely caring and the standards are very high. The food is magnificent - the chef puts love into the food because you can literally taste it. Overall best place and best value for money we stayed in in Scotland.

Location excellent, by the riverside, 10 minutes from the city centre. Very good breakfast (I paid £12.50 supplement) including haggis- always a good sign in Scotland. Hotel is a series of terraced properties- perhaps former guest houses - that have been joined together sympathetically.
