I was with my 9yr old daughter so we didn’t see much except the cinema (Vue) and Whin Park and Leisure Centre. All of which are fine and well worth a visit and very close by. The river Ness which runs right through Inverness is very picturesque. We highly recommend the Ness Island mini Railway and the boating pond which are both in Whin Park. There are somehow literally no museums or libraries open on...
There are somehow literally no museums or libraries open on Mondays or tuesdays, which were the days I was stuck there as a travel layover. So I got stuck literally just sitting in a park in the rain twice for several hours waiting to check in to my hotel, as there was nothing else to do since I didn’t need anything from any stores or restaurants and no other indoor spaces or activities were open within an hour and a half of the city centre by public transit. There are also only two small, museums available even on other days. Inverness might actually have the worst museum ratio Ive encountered in the British isles. Almost everywhere else has some form of local history museum or the like, Inverness has one historic house and one art gallery.Guest review byAmeliaUnited Kingdom
