The Old Pound Inn is located in Aller, just a short drive from Langport and 31 mi from Bath. There is a bowling alley on site and guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant and bar. Staff like this would make most any environment a lovely stay, yet the rural setting around Aller is most beautiful and picturesque.

Langport
Set in Langport in the Somerset region, No. 5 Smith Cottages has a patio. The accommodations is 14 mi from Taunton. Lovely little cottage, had all you needed and more inside. We came with a baby, and a cot and highchair were supplied for us which saved some space in the car! Loved the little village, all the takeaways you may need, Tesco a short walk away, river walks, lovely little cafes and pubs. We utilised it all (except takeaways but we were only there two nights so weren't needed!)
Good location, central for visiting all local attractions. We ate at The Old Pound Inn three evenings and have to say both the food and service were excellent. Great value for money. We also made a stop at the Cider Shack a mile up the road for a cream tea but be aware it was Sunday afternoon and there were several locals drinking cider and getting very loud. Language was very colourful, so be aware if you are easily offended or have young children!
Langport is a great location in Somerset, close to Glastonbury(King Arthur legends, Tor, Chalice Well) and Weston-super-Mare(coastal town with fantastic fish variety). Ideal location for one overnight, close to local farms, nature walks and scenery is amazing! The local Inns and pubs offer fresh products, delicious farm products 15 minute driving. It is very easy to get around, would recommend a smaller car for the narrow roads though. For the next visit you need few days though, as the region has a lot to offer. 3 days would make a difference where you can pretty much do more from the above mentioned highlights.
Langport is a very quiet place, the shops are nice selection, the Deli Cafe is excellent, and has nice vegan option if needed. Parking is free next to a lovely riverside park and walk. The Babk cafe is also very good after the walk, again a couple of vegan options, and excellent food, fresh eggs etc.
The Inn is not actually at Langport but the small hamlet of Aller two miles away. Its a very quiet traditional village. Langport is a small market town of character with all the usual amenities. It is also historic as it was once a thriving inland port.
We were in driving distance of a number of towns. Short drives to Street, Glastonbury, Taunton and Yeovil. Watch out for a great curry house in Somerton. Overall, a great area in which to spend some time. Glastonbury is beautiful, and we will be returning. We ran out of time to see everything that was suggested.
Langport is ideally situated for exploring Somerset and many places can be visited by public transport from Langport. There are some lovely river walks and excellent course fishing available on the river! If you like Indian food try Cardomom Restaurant, eat in or takeaway, the best we have enjoyed since our last trip to India!! There are plenty of alternative places to eat on the main street.
Langport
Almost too much to eat, but we managed. The waitress forgot to bring the cereals we had ordered, but it didn't matter in view of the gigantic plateful we ate. It was evident that the hotel had had a complete makeover fairly recently, and that it was well-designed, tasteful scrupulously clean. We can recommend it.

Very spacious family room with air conditioning and fridge. Spotless clean. Lovely location away from busy roads and noise. True pet-friendly hotel. Brilliant breakfast to satisfy all the family. Friendly host. This place was ideal for us to stay for a night during our journey. Highly recommend.

Nice set of apartments that we used for a group of guests for a wedding in the area. Team are friendly and Langport was a small cosy town to visit. The Kitchen down by the river was very enjoyable and the firehouse restaurant nearby also excellent.
