I have stayed her numerous times as its close to my Head Office for monthly meetings. Staff are excellent. Food always good. I stayed in the Nelson room as an upgrade. The room was superb though the mattress was not great on the bed,my only minor complaint.

The barn is super cosy and has everything you need for a short stay in comfortable accommodation, it’s well designed with great facilities and homely touches. It’s secluded and private but set in a great location for access to many areas of natural beauty. The hosts are extremely accommodating and couldn’t do more to make your stay comfortable. The dog friendly facilities are safe and secure and is a home from home.

We stayed in one of the Shepherds Huts and it was beautiful. We got lucky with the weather but with all the little touches it could even be great in colder months. The hot tub, the smart TV, the modern and clean decor of the hut and the view - loved it all!

Perfect little gem of a place for a couple visiting Suffolk. It was immaculately clean, warm & cosy for a week’s break in February and had everything we needed to self cater. One of us particular dietary needs so it is important to us to be able to self cater comfortably. The owners made us very welcome on arrival & we felt we could easily contact them if a problem arose. We would highly recommend The Lily Pad & hope to return.

I liked the historical and Architectural ambiance.

I liked the historical and Architectural ambiance. I liked the friendly staff. Excellent food and good choice at all meals. If I could change anything it would be a walk in shower in my room and I would have also liked an arm chair. There was space for one. Transport size there is an infrequent bus to take you in to Diss but in my humble opinion there is a lack of available taxi cabs to take you to the train Station. I did not ask reception as I have taxi numbers in my phone so may have missed out. I am sure they have the same problem finding a taxi though. Those of us living in places with a good transport system find this an issue. Overall I liked Scope inn very much. I would recommend it to my friends especially those with a Car.

Arrived Bank hol August.

Arrived Bank hol August. The road leading to the Inn, had encountered 2 deaths of cyclist. Road closed , as Police informed bodies were still on the road. Large village outside Diss, midway between Ipswich and...

Large village outside Diss, midway between Ipswich and Norwich, convenient for visiting Norfolk and Suffolk and coastal towns. Went there for a wedding at little green wedding bard which was a10 minute trip. Went out for a meal and the thatchers needle in Diss which again was about 10 minutes away. Lovely pub/ restaurant which has a great choice of meals, the car very was one of the best I have had in a long time whith plenty of meat rather than the two or three slices you get at a lot of places.lovely eating area outside if the weather is good or large eating area inside if needed. Staff were helpful and attentive, would recommend for anyone staying in the area.

The history of the building and the "quirkiness" are...

The history of the building and the "quirkiness" are extremely interesting. It is like staying in a piece of history. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and it really does feel more like staying at someone's house as opposed to a hotel.

Scole is a village, with a small general store and an interesting church. Diss is some 2-3 miles away and offers small town amentities I.e. Fuel, supermarkets, restaurants etc. You really need a car to travel.

I booked a twin room and did not get it I was with a friend who had driven me for four hours we were told we would have to pay a further £90 pounds for a twin room when the booking with you is a twin room we were given a small put up bed this was not right the hotel say it was your fault we would like a refund

The building is full of original character, that means beams and uneven creaky floors but please don't change that. The new owners are trying hard to lift the standard and it is certainly excellent value in a quiet village setting. Many other hotels in the area suffer from A140 road noise.

I stay there almost every week for business, that should say it all really. Best hotel in the area as far as I'm concerned. Friendly staff, clean rooms and great location.
