Maypole Farm, Cawood, a guest house, is a property located 4.3 mi from Selby. This guest house offers luggage storage space and free WiFi. Guests can make use of a garden. The location was easy enough to find using sat nav despite being in a remote area. The room was modern, clean, and well stocked. We were welcomed by our host who was lovely, she gave us a tour and advised us about the comings and goings into the grounds. There was ample breakfast options available and it was help yourself. Sounds like a silly comment but the shower pressure and temperature was spot on too.

Selby is a lovely place to visit. Lots of shops cafes and public houses to enjoy. There is a sports centre and swimimg baths as well as a gym. Also a beautiful abbey. And a lovely park if you want to sit and relax.
The hotel was situated right next to the Abbey. Would have loved to have spent time looking around Selby but unfortunately we didn't have time. The hotel is in a great position. We ate a Sunday dinner and a fish & chips in the restaurant on arrival both of which were very enjoyable. The inclusive breakfast we chose from the breakfast menu was great, very filling.
Stayed here several times,B&B,hotel, find plenty of nice walks locally so can leave car, easy access to York or towns nearby, good variety of shops etc to suit most tastes,The Abbey well worth a visit ,lots of cafe’s/pubs serving good food, town has a few steps but pedestrian areas mainly good access
An interesting town but having a tough time I suspect as investment seems lacking especially in infrastructure to cope with an increasing house building programme. It has family connections for me, hence location is convenient but good hotels are not easy to find close to the centre.
SELBY WAS GREAT, THE GEORGE CATERING WASNT, SHAME REALLY THE SUNDAY STAFF APART FROM THE CHEF WERE GREAT!!!! , THE GEORGE NEEDS A NEW CHEF, UNFORTUNATELY , NICE PERSON VERY APOLOGETIC BUT NOT A GOOD CHEF !!!!
Selby is great but if you want a good night's sleep then don't stay at the george inn in selby, outside noise and rowdy people from 02.30 to 04.30, and room representation is not accurate to what you get
Selby
Easy to find and dedicated parking. Short drive into Selby where there are a plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. Delighted to find there is a frequent bus service from Selby into York which runs till quite late. For 2 people, the cottage is huge and a well provisioned. We only had 3 nights but it would be very suitable for a much longer stay. Much to see in the area. Own separate garden with seats where you sit with a tea or a beer and watch the siunset. Highly recommended.

Selby
This place has a communal kitchen and lounge with a big fridge/freezer, 2 ovens and a hob for guests. A great improvement on most cheap hotel facilities. They even had an area I could store my bike, This place is a good option if you are in this area. Selby is quite an attractive town, but unexciting.
The hotel is located in a convenient place. There are many different shops and pubs around. The train station is a 5 minute walk. We had a great stay. The staff in the hotel were amazing - very very helpful and friendly. There is a car park just outside the hotel where you can pay per day.
Selby
We stopped for a 2 night stay both mornings the breakfast was fab. The owner was really cheerful and pleasant.( Wouldn't expect anything other from Yorkshire folk). If we ever come back to Selby we will definitely stay here.
Selby
It was clean, quiet and just what I needed for a place to sleep after going to a wedding. It was affordable compared to others in the area for the bank holiday weekend. And its right near the centre of Selby town.
The room was of a good standard with power sockets everywhere, a good open space around. Attached to the hotel were a bar and eating place
The George Inn is located a short walk from the train station and a few steps from Selby Abbey, the magnificent church I wanted to visit.
Location was good. Short drive from York. Great pub with great staff.
