Hotel in Sparkford
Just off the A303 between Wincanton and Yeovil, 0.7 miles from Haynes International Motor Museum. A 15th Century coaching inn, The Sparkford Inn is located in the center of Sparkford village. We stayed for one night in a family room on the way back from Cornwall. Everything was brilliant, room was large and very comfy beds, shower was hot, everything was really clean. Had fantastic evening meal and cooked breakfast. The lady who looked after us was just amazing, she is so helpful and just a genuinely lovely person - I would stay again just for her she's so likeable! Thank you so much :)

Sparkford itself is a linear town with little to see but it does have an excellent Museum of motoring which is outstanding . It is also surrounded by countryside but so it the whole of the west country . We ate a t the Sparkford Inn and the food was excellent - but some of the staff were grumpy and unhelpful .I would not stay at the Inn again .
Bathroom was not clean and smells all the time, and there is a step which is a trip hazard! No toilet brush and nothing was refreshed mid stay no clean towels and no no coffee tea etc was issued during our stay! Outside furniture yes but only 1 chair and small table for a family room. Property was understaffed and showed.
We had an evening meal which was good. Staff could have been more welcoming on arrival. The room kettle was situated where the plug did not reach the socket! Had to move furnisher around to boil water for hot drinks.
I enjoyed my stop over after driving down from London en rout to my holiday home in Devon. Nice to follow footpaths across fields and visit the local church and then finish up with a glass of cider and a tasty meat pie and fall asleep in a warm and comfortable bed. It sets me up for the rest of my journey the next day, which I could do in one day but I enjoy the stop over now and will keep going back there.
The food and welcome at The Sparkford Inn was excellent, and the Haynes Motor Museum which I went to on impulse was fascinating and had so many beautiful cars from all eras. It is a good place to stay for a night if you are travelling on the A303 to and from Cornwall, and there are some nice country walks to help you relax from the driving.
A great stopover en route to Devon for the Easter holidays. Nice quiet spacious family room. Evening meal was very nice. The tea could have been hotter at breakfast and cereal spoons available but these are only tiny picky issues and does not reflect in our overall stay which was lovely. We would definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and overall a lovely 'oldy worldy' traditional pub x
Conveniently located 10 minutes from friends we were visiting, Sparkford Inn offered good value accommodation for a 2 night weekend stay. We chose it for the large size family room that could accommodate our two boys and us comfortably and a decent breakfast was included in the price which was very reasonable. The room was very spacious, had nice linen and a large tv plus some basic tea/ coffee making facilities. The landlady was very accommodating of my 3 year olds request for ‘dippy eggs’ at breakfast.
