Offering a restaurant serving fresh Caithness seafood, Pentland Hotel is centrally located in Thurso and provides free WiFi access in public areas. A lounge bar with snacks is at the guests' disposal.... We loved our stay at Pentland! The staff was incredibly nice & helpful throughout our stay. The food (both dinner & the included breakfast) were wonderful! We brought 2 dogs with us (one small, one large) & they were treated wonderfully & were very comfortable at the hotel. For the price, you can't beat it!

Located in Thurso in the Highlands region, Pentland Lodge House has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. My family always stays at huge corporate hotels while traveling, so it was a very pleasant change to travel with my partner for the first time and experience a small lodge that makes you feel like welcomed family guests and personalizes each breakfast meal hot and fresh for you. It was exactly the experience I was looking for on my trip!

Only had one day in Thurso, could've stayed longer with Thurso as base, because lots to do & see in the area. Dunnet Head is superb, Joan O'Groats is obligatory, but only worth a quick stop. Beaches are gorgeous.
We just spent one night there, I wish we could stay longer. Very nice cottage, cosy and well equipped. The beds were comfy. The location is perfect, Tesco nearby as well as Thurso precinct with nice coffee shops. What I'd add, is the seats outside (in the garden), and two things in the bathroom- bathroom bin and toilet brush.
Charming little town, much of which closes up at 5pm. Not many places to eat after that, but friendly personnel wherever we went and a wonderful river walk. Highly recommend Highland Taxis if you don't have a car; they offer free left luggage service if you have to wait a few hours for your train or your hotel room to be available, or maybe before you head to Scrabster to catch the ferry.
The Hotel it self was clean and the room was fairly spacious The onsite restaurant was nice and the food was lovely My only gripe was the noise from downstairs as loud music was played until around 1AM Found it very difficult to sleep It did ruin what could off been a nice stay
Useful for a one night stop. Lovely Riverside walk. Interesting town to explore for a couple of hours. Old St Patrick's Church, although a ruin, was fascinating. The Park Hotel served local ingredients in dishes and the evening meal was enjoyable.
Thurso is a lovely town, full of history. Be sure to visit the museum, situated in the former town hall, old St. Peter’s church near the harbour, and take note of the meadow well on trail street and the many examples of fine architecture. The walk along the riverside is a must with the old mill and boating pond. A walk from the beach esplanade along Victoria walk(the cliff top path) will give you a good view of Thurso bay and Scrabster. There are plenty of eateries though for best value a bar meal at the Pentland Hotel would be hard to beat. They also off the best breakfasts in town and an incredible carvery buffet on Sundays. My only criticism is of the taxi companies which we found to be unreliable as they were either late or didn’t show up at all. Very disappointing.
As the hotel name suggests - located in an extremely convenient position straight down the road from Thurso station, and a short walk from the town centre and beach. Clean, spacious and quiet rooms located out the back of the main hotel building, complete with a gorgeous bathroom and a delightful view out of the window. Lightning fast wi-fi was the cherry on top of the cake - thank you so much for a wonderful stay!
Thurso
This is a beautiful house, well decorated and cozy. - The friendliness and cheerfulness of our host was outstanding - Big plus was a fridge in our room - The room was clean, there was enough room to put our bags and sit - The breakfast was very tasty - Hotel with a bar and restaurant is literally next door - High performing central heating - Close to Thurso and about 15 mins to ferry terminal to Orkneys
Perfect location for our stop over whilst doing NC500.. the hosts were very welcoming made us feel right at home. Dinner and breakfast were offered on arrival, and certainly did not disapoint! Hotel is a newly decorated, its modern and is very comfortable. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Thurso now I've been here and been treated so well. We will definitely visit again.

The guest information in the rooms was an interesting read with lots of local knowledge and walks to do. Best place we’ve stayed in Scotland so far. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Thurso
The owner was very kind to accept the change of date without problems since I made a mistake in the reservation. The house is very nice, large and fully equipped room and bathroom much more than necessary, with accessories of great elegance. There are also other rooms available to guests, always equipped with things to eat and drink. The preparation of the breakfast is absolutely spectacular: I no longer remembered that cotton napkins existed ............. In conclusion, everything more than perfect. What you spend at Camfield House is much less than what you will receive during your stay !!
Thurso
Such a little gem of a spot in the very north of Scotland. The little bunkers were cozy and clean and provided everything our family of four needed. The hot tub and views from it were especially stellar! The location was close to Thurso, and a few other small towns. Our only regret was we didn't have more time there.
Thurso
Food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful and courteous
