I stayed here with my two sisters, one had an adjoining room and we were all really impressed by the hotel and the staff. Rooms were beautifully clean with comfortable beds and the staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. We decided to eat at the restaurant on the first evening and we were not disappointed at all! Good sized portions and delicious! Breakfasts in the morning were good too. We had cooked breakfasts, good sized and they were happy to swap items for us. We had a great time here and right on the doorstep of the caves!

What a charming house. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. It's quietly tucked away and the grounds are lovely. So peaceful. We enjoyed our beautiful view from the Master room. Gorgeous canopy bed. Spotless room and modern bathroom. The house is filled with antiques but is tastefully furnished and very inviting. The breakfast was delicious and the service was wonderful. Peaceful and perfect.

Wells is one of the most interesting cities in England with...

Wells is one of the most interesting cities in England with the oldest Gothic cathedral founded in 1175. The architecture is almost all Early English with a huge amount of sculptural detail, not least on the great West Front. Those with a keen eye may even detect some Arab decorative influence probably by masons from the time of the Crusades. The Bishop's Palace where the swans in the moat have learned to ring a bell for their food, is must see. The town itself is compact with independent shops and many eateries. A gold star destination.

We came for a funeral, so had no time to do more than admire the city, landscape and villages as we drove through them. We shall certainly speak well of what we saw, and of the people we met. Also, we hope the chance comes to visit again one day. I am truly sorry we didn`t take photos - sadly, funerals are not the best subjects !

The location is great! Across the road from the caves & all other activities included. We also used the free cinema night which we really enjoyed. The breakfast was fab although a little chaotic but it is a family hotel so we expected it to be busy during the school holidays. A handy tip is if you don’t mind travelling a couple of miles into Wells there’s a great Wetherspoons there which is far more affordable if you’re on a budget like we were.
