Everything! It’s a nice, quiet village-like hotel with rooms not facing the main road. The food was delicious and each evening had a theme night with a certain type of cuisine. Among them I liked the most the BBQ night. The all-inclusive option is an excellent value for money, the cocktails were very good and the bartenders were always there. The staff was very helpful. Also, I had read the other reviews about this property and it had been noted that there were no signs for allergens - now there are those kinds of signs. The hotel had an evening with live music (greek style) which was very nice; during the daytime there were certain basic fitness activities which were very good options for those concerned about the amount of tasty food… The hotel has a very nice policy for those who checked in late, allowing for using the all-inclusive options during the last day while waiting for the taxi to the airport. It’s a big plus.

The location was great, right on the beach. Complimentary beach sun loungers, plenty of other hotels further up the beach charge. Pool was perfectly chilled, swim up pool bar a great bonus! Manos at the pool bar gave great service! All the hotel staff were super friendly and accommodating. Good spread for breakfast, plenty on offer.

Maria at the front desk was amazing. She helped us with anything we asked- recommendations for restaurants, arranging our ferry tickets to Balos, ordering a car service for our wine tour- there was nothing Maria wasn’t able to help with. She made our stay at Ostrakon very comfortable and we can’t wait to be back. The location was also great with lots of food options nearby and free parking.

    We have stayed in Agia Marina five or six times over the years and it was the first place we visited in Crete over twenty years ago. Although we like to think that we do not return to places and have travelled the world, we have been to Crete at least fourteen times and have gravitated towards Agia Marina. Now in our late 70's, we are comfortable in the knowledge that it is a safe place to holiday, with a good range of accommodation, a predictable climate for the most part, some good restaurants and shops and the people are welcoming and friendly. It is also a short bus ride or taxi (about 8 miles) from Chania, for a change of scenery, a fantastic Venetian harbour and a good range of shops and restaurants.

    Agia Marina has a great long beach, lots of lovely restaurants like KriKri, Koupes, Spiti, Mythos, many shops and super markets and other services you might need. Also locals are so friendly and nice. Just a little walk or drive to Platanias area with more great restaurants (Kyano, Milos etc) and many many opportunities for shopping as well. If you are looking for nice jewelry I can recommend Ira Jewelry in Platanias. And easy to get to Chania town that is only about 9 km away. Public transport works well as do taxis.

    Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by. Nice beach also. Good bus route into Chania. Our favourite restaurant was Nymfi and could have easily ate there every evening. The food was exceptional, as was the service and ambiance and decor were really great. Our 2 meals there were as good a dining experience as we have had and we eat out a lot. Highly recommend. We hired a car for our stay and the accommodation had its own onsite parking. Highly recommend accommodation.

    Never been to Crete before but will return.

    Never been to Crete before but will return. Chania is nearby - a decent walk or short bus trip (10km) and is worth a day out. The beaches at Agia marina are superb. The whole area is so clean and everybody takes pride in keeping it that way. Restaurants were the best we've been to for the full week. Couldn't fault any of them on quality, quantity and service provided. Can do excursions if that's your thing with the most popular being Elafonisi, Balos and Samaria gorge.

    Lovely location to stay in with lots of shops restaurants and bars close by to visit A lovely beach which was clean and had facilities such as restaurants and bars also water sports close by. We hired a car locally and got a better deal than using main hire companies

    This was my 5th stay at Agia Marina.

    This was my 5th stay at Agia Marina. I return each year because it feels just right. No huge hotels with all inclusive, well, few are, but just few. Very Humble place, tons of restaurants, shops, cats and beautiful sea.

    Absolutely splendid location, 10m from the beach, splendid views, excellent cleaning and services. Thrasivoulos and Alice went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and they pulled it off. It was one of the best accomodation in Greece. I recommend this location to anyone who is looking to visit Agia Marina and the surroundings. Thank you for 2 wonderful weeks!

    The place was of very high standards. Every day someone would clean the room. The location was very good to reach Chania by car and the host was very kind allowing us to return the towels the last day after our check-out. We did enjoy it very much! Recommend this stay :)
