Located 0.6 mi from Santa Cruz La Laguna indigenous village, Casa Prana Villa & Suites offers an outdoor pool, a furnished terrace and 9-acres garden. We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed our stay tremendously. Beautiful views of the lake, excellent breakfast, great facilities (yoga room) and an amazing garden. Who can complain about a fireplace in our room. A special mention to Paul who went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay! Thanks a lot and we hope one day to return.

Atitlan Sunset Lodge Apartments are located on the shores of Lake Atitlan in Santa Cruz La Laguna and boast excellent volcano views. Free Wi-Fi and kayak use are provided at this property. Absolutely incredible experience and stay at Atitlan. The owner, Armand, is communicative, super friendly and helpful. He And his lovely daughter even hosted my friend and I for dinner one evening and told us all about Guatemala and his move there from France. The apartment itself has spectacular views and is very well equipped. It was the absolute highlight of our trip. You can just relax and chill by the lake or you can visit the various villages and do water sports. Armand advised on all the various options. It also provides a beautiful running route along the lake shore. FYI - The next door properties are also very expensive resorts charging probably 4x the rate, with less of a view than the one from the huge panoramic apartment windows!! Thank you very much for a fantastic stay Armand! One tip - do your food shopping beforehand as the closest village to Atitlans Lodge is very small (has a beautiful cafe) but there weren't many groceries to stock up on. 100% would love to go back and stay there again! Can't rate it highly enough.

Offering a restaurant and a private beach area in Atitlán Lake, Hotel y Café La Casa del Mundo is located in El Jaibalito. Free WiFi access is available in all areas. The most magical hotel we've ever been to. We got room 17 which was absolutely gorgeous with the most amazing views of the lake and the 2 volcanos. The food was delicious, dinner was served with candlelight with all the guests sitting together. We got a free 1 hour kayak which was great fun, they give free snorkel equipment so you can see the sunk balconies. The staff in the hotel are amazing - service is 5 stars, attention to details is great, and they all speak English.

Interesting Mayan village high above the lake, friendly inhabitants, lots of healthy and approachable street dogs, and superb massage from Elaine at Elements Spa further west along beach. Difficult walking along beach due to crazy patchwork of concrete walkways, random stairways, ptotufing nails and elevation changes. Decent dinner at Colibi restaurant in Arce de Noe hotel.
Better to think you come to stay your own remote cottage in weekend holiday to bring your own personal stuffs of toilette, linen, towel, hangers not to expect fancy facilities and have compromising mind with inconvenience. Location have proximity off boat, Barking wild dogs as wolf in nights Peoples passed by front lane in public of property to require attention of security by yourself.
This is a very small town - which is one of the reasons we loved it! Our hotel was located right next to the lake, and to the boat stop. If you wish to visit the town, you can hike up the very steep road, or can take a tuk-tuk if you prefer. Once you reach the top, you will be treated to lovely views of Lake Atitlan. There isn't much to see up there though - it's just a small town/village - but you can experience the everyday life of locals. We loved it and would stay again.
We took 2 different village tours. They were absolutely terrific filled with culture of the Mayan peoples of the western highlands. We saw first hand weaving, pottery, artistry, how chocolate is made, and numerous churches of Mayan and Catholic mix. We saw rituals also. Dina our guide was so knowledgable and her English superb. We would have prefered staying at least another 2 days one for just resting and another to take another tour with Pedro's tour agency, now called Volcan Tours.

Casa Prana was beyond my wildest expectations and is an absolutely unique place in Guatemala. I live in Guatemala and have stayed in various nice hotels around the country, Casa Prana stands out for its thoughtful design, excellent food (love that there is no restaurant and you can eat anywhere on the property for any meal), and attentive staff. Not to mention the outdoor beds! My husband and I came for our minimoon after getting married in Antigua and couldn’t have picked a better spot. Highly recommend for romantic getaways!

The location and view were amazing! It was easy to get around with the public boat and tuk- tuks as needed. The communication from the owner and manager was good with plenty of info about how to get to the lodge and things to do from there. We met the owner who was delightful and made sure we knew about some of the extra amenities.

The hotel is a converted school. The rooms were large, quiet, and cool. There was an upper floor deck which gave a view over the village and a partial view of the lake and was great for early morning birding. Breakfast was included and was traditional and of good quality.
