Cortona is a town out of a postcard for Tuscany. If I had one day in Italy I would spend it here. The town is a Tuscan dream and has everything you could possibly need for a stay great restaurants cafes wine shops grocery stores and sights. We had the perfect locations just of the town square only a few steps to everything we needed. Cortona is so special and more than we could have hoped for.
The view from the room was fabulous. While the room was small having the balcony gave us somewhere else to sit and relax. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is ideal, you have the opportunity to drop off your luggage and still be close to everything.
Cortona is a town in Tuscany where time slows down... no matter how much of a rush you are in, it is impossible to not slow down in Cortona. For a place to relax it cannot be surpassed, the slow pace of life just screams for taking cognisance of your own being and finding that creative spark inside of you after seeing all of the wonderful art and crafts that are on display in this wonderful place. For food you can not beat Dardano, AD Braceria, La Buccacia and the wonderful Birrificio Cortonese. It's a hilly place so good walking shoes are a must, oh, and a strong pair of lungs.
The town is perfect for those who appreciate history. Surrounded by a wall built 2500 years ago that is still there! Some buildings are over thousand years old and well restored to offer good and comfortable accommodations. Gastronomy is typical Italian and people are very friendly. It is not a place for those who prefer night clubs. It is a place to taste wine, delicatessens and slow walking. Romantic nights and fantastic view in the morning over an immense valley. Seat somewhere. Look to the history unfold. Feel the clean air and deep silence in the night. It is like a time travel.
A very nice area, good for 3 days. The hotel was beautiful and had a great wine tour with lunch. Local restaurants in village excellent in particular Ristorante La Bucaccia da Romano. Great food, wine , Atmosphere 10 out of 10. Local taxis a Disaster and it seems there makeing up the prices as they go.
We walked around the town. There are museums and art galleries and lots of churches. Great views from many locations. Extraordinary architecture. A wedding and Music in the square to savour the atmosphere. The restaurants serve amazing dishes. 2 days enough.
Cortona
The host was very friendly and helpful from the first day we booked the accommodation. The apartment was right at the middle of cortana Square, it was perfect. I stayed at the apartment with my husband and 2 kids, and the space was spacious compared to staying in a hotel. The room was clean and comfy , and the best part was the host had these little post it notes with recommendations for places to eat and stuff, which for me find it super helpful . 😀 We plan to comeback to Cortana again and will definitely come back to stay here.
Villa Aurelia is a beautiful property in a beautiful setting, away from the crowds and impossible parking of Cortona, but close enough for an easy visit. My room, in a small building separate from the main hotel, was lovely, the swimming pools were clean and beautiful and the restaurant served very good food. The chef even packed me an excellent picnic lunch on a day that I was going out to explore the Tuscan countryside in my rental car.
The building was renovated with great perfection. It’s only a short drive to the historic village Cortona. Having Dinner at Villa di Piazzano is a unique experience which should not be missed. The chef not only prepares a great dinner, also breakfast is great. Staff is super friendly and everybody can speak english. The barista prepares perfect cappuccino.
Cortona
This is such a beautiful place! Super, super clean! Little individual self contained rooms with EVERYTHING you need for a stay! The host is lovely, the grounds are so well maintained and the atmosphere is incredibly peaceful! Plenty of parking for a UK to Italy courier van like mine! Well stocked fridge and cupboard for breakfasts! Very very impressed!
In a delightful and small town, the Hotel San Michele is very central and has parking possibilities in a pedestrianised town. The personnel were so helpful and our 2 nights spent there were outstanding. This is a lovely town to visit and we cannot imagine a better hotel with people who look after all of your needs than the Hotel San Michele.
Cortona
The location is just perfect. One of the best experiences I ever had. The hotel is simple, more like a B&B. The owner, Paola, is just a wonderful person, making you feel like you are at home. The breakfast have some of here own home made bread and cakes. The building, like the whole town, has its own history, built over 600 years ago...
Cortona
The location, the people. It was what we’ve always wanted. A home away from home to unwind. Toscana is always lovely, esp. in the summer. Cortona is a new place that has captured our hearts. Podere La Vecchia Fornace is a wonderful place to stay in. Near to almost destinations around Tuscany. We look forward to coming back one day.
Cortona
Stefano & his family were amazingly friendly and the place stunning. Very clean, quite, an amazing pool area and garden and the cities nearby are great. We only stayed for two days - next time we‘ll stay longer :) Perfect for vacation but also nice for a week of home office in Italy!
The location was wonderful. A short car ride outside of town gives you a wonderful quiet and peaceful experience. Breakfast was very nice. Cortona offers so many good things and, for us, the Villa was certainly a big part of a wonderful time!
The apartment was stylish, spacious, and really well located (right in the center of Cortona). The restaurant opposite the street had amazing local food. The Together Tuscany service was great, they were very responsive and helpful.
Cortona
beautiful and traditional building, with a lovely pool and grounds. Close to Cortona by car. we had a big room with a kitchen and living room space, plus the bathroom was very cute! Staff were really helpful :)
