The place is very unusual, there are mostly local guests of various profiles, sometimes you can feel unsafe even though there is a lot of police and the streets are lit. The center is small but nice and organized, there is a lot of good and cheap food. The great thing is that it is well connected to Rome, the train goes every 15 minutes and in 20 minutes you are in Rome, which is many times more expensive in every sense than Lida di Ostia. Lovers of good beaches and the sea will not be impressed because the sea is shallow and you cannot swim in the depths because stone barriers have been installed, so all you have to do is splash around in the shallows, which are mostly cloudy because the beach is sandy. Ostia is a beautiful city next to the Airport and just a short ride from Rome. I truly love it there, in the last year I visited 3 times and I cant wait to come back. We were only there for 1 night. From what I saw and experienced; it is a beautiful place to visit and experience the lifestyle.. It is very easy to get around and the evening life is very active but quite peaceful. The outdoor plaza is a great place to visit with it many restaurants and varied foods. Our stay was absolutely wonderful — we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The apartment is in a perfect location — ideal both for day trips outside central Ostia and for easy access to the beach, which is just a 10-minute walk away. The beaches were clean and well-maintained, perfect for relaxing. The flat is fully equipped with everything you might need, including an iron — a detail I really appreciated. We were warmly welcomed with bottled drinking water in the fridge, coffee, and some small snacks — a lovely touch. Communication with the host was excellent — friendly, responsive, and reliable throughout our stay. You can’t go wrong with food anywhere you choose — after all, it's Italy! The location is great - right next to the beach if that is your thing and about 40 minutes to the heart of ancient Rome on the train (Trains about every 20 minutes and €1.50 for journeys of 100 minutes or less). It was great to be able to escape the heat and bustle of central Rome and head back to the seaside at the end of each day. Plenty of restaurants to choose from in Ostia, especially if you like fish!
