Located at the top of a hill with room windows that face the duomo, the Art Studio Hotel offers a central location -- easy access to groceries, restaurants, and historical sites -- plus free parking at the edges of the plaza around the duomo. The staff is friendly, breakfast was good, and I would have liked to spend more time on the rooftop with its excellent views all around, had the weather been a bit warmer.

We loved our stay, too bad it was just for one night! Robert and Nikki (sorry for possible spelling) are fantastic hosts passionate about tourism. They have individual approach towards their guests. Exceptionally clean and welcoming atmosphere located outside of Piazza Armerina. While in sight of SS Centrale Sicula, we enjoyed peace and quiet - the surrounding area seems to be mostly small farms. We rented the whole house (four apartments: one on ground floor, three on upper floor). The B&B was conveniently stocked with wine, beverages, water, etc to consume on a honesty-system basis, and the owner helped arrange a dinner at the house. A big buffet breakfast was set up as well.

I wasn't expecting much from Piazza Armerina - the main focus of the stay being to the Villa Romana, so it was a delightful surprise to discover such a charming town with delightful hidden corners and beautifully illuminated at night.

This is obviously the stopping point for the ancient Villa...

This is obviously the stopping point for the ancient Villa Romana del Casane site (which is superb with its bikini girl figures), but the town itself is wonderful with the spectacular duomo and Trigona museum across from it. It's a great town to wander around. The finest town in the region. Warmer and cosier than Enna.

Christian was an exceptional host.

Christian was an exceptional host. He was just what we needed at that stage of our 10 day trip to the amazing Island of Sicily. This was a change of plans for us and it turned out to be such a beautiful experience. If you are in this area I would go to it.

A visit to the Villa de Romana was excellent.

A visit to the Villa de Romana was excellent. Approx 17kms out of Pizza Armerina. Drive out there or take a tour. Entry fee for us was 17 euros each. We were not part of a tour and did not hire any recorded explanations of what we were looking at. There are signs every describing those things. A decent market with good prices at the entrance near the parking area. Parking is two euros for first hour then one per hour afterwards.

It's an ancient town with several museums.

It's an ancient town with several museums. Most importantly, it's only 10 minutes drive from Villa Romana, where you can see the most important and extensive Roman mosaics in the world. They will take your breath away! Get there early and the coaches won't have arrived. Most important tip - if you come by car - get a SMALL one. The roads are tiny and I don't know how a large car would manage.

I highly recommend visiting Villa Romana del Casale which was remarkable. However Piazza Armerina itself does not cater for visitors well with very few options for evening meals. I stayed in the Centro Storico and it may have been better in the newer part of the town

Fantastic place with the most incredible view of Piazza Armerina! Probably the most generous accommodation we have stayed at. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and offer you a kitchen/dining area with coffee, teas, drinks, fruit, snacks etc free for you to take throughout your stay (in addition to breakfast!), which I thought was extremely generous of them and as they told us makes you "feel at home". The relaxed checkout time was also a nice bonus for us. Grazie a Luciano e Tiziana! :)

Well located B&B in the historic centre of Piazza Armerina. Excellent breakfast provided, and the owner may offer to cook a delicious home cooked five course dinner in his mini restaurant (reasonable price). This meal was huge so make sure you are hungry beforehand. Good facilities - there are rooms and appartments. Some parking outside, but there is a large, safe free car park just a few minutes walk away.

It was a last minute reservation so we didn't have the chance to try the cooking lesson or any of the activities that this accommodation offers, but even just our stay there was an experience itself. Carlo was very polite, informative and made us feel like home!I strongly recommend this place for one more reason. It's in the central rural part of Sicily an it's a must to visit!

This is a real gem of a place. Piazza Armerina is a beautiful town but this hotel is worth a visit in its own right. The welcome was warm and genuine and the ambience and vibe of the hotel is just the same. You feel that you are staying with friends. Do not hesitate to stay here if you are visiting Sicily
