We found that hotel for the last day of Shirakawago Light up event. We were very happy about this. The staff give us a lot of useful information, shuttle bus and even tickets. Despite of the location is a little bit far but the hotel provides all of quality services. Everything is well organized.

The hotel is new and clean. It's just 5 minutes' drive from the Shirakawa Mura. They serve the meals nicely, and you can eat non-stop in 1.5 hours. And the food is very delicious. also the room is excellent. We are allocated to a full suite with a bedroom and a living room. And the price is much better than expected. I will recommend this one if you are traveling there for special occasions such as anniversary, birthday and proposals.

We arrived a little late to GuestHouse Shirakawaga-Go Inn but were welcomed warmly by the staff. We were able to park our car right outside the front entrance, which was very convenient. The property offered bike rentals, so we decided to rent bikes for the following day at only ¥1,000 a bike. The lounge/kitchen area was very comfortable, and we enjoyed eating our meals and having coffee with the beautiful view of the rice fields and mountains. The bedroom was simple and comfortable, and the facilities in the property were clean.

Super cute historic building! We had sunlight-filled Japan style tatami mat room. The hostess was very friendly with excellent English. The restroom was spacious and clean. The hours of the in-house resturant were a bit limited but we made good use of the store across the street and others in town to supply all our needs after our very excellent 17:30 meal there. We got lucky and our room was ready when we arrived at 12:00 and we could leave all our things. We then enjoyed walking around the village until it was time for dinner.

We loved staying here, the owners are a lovely family. They make great food and are very friendly. The location is great for exploring the area, the rooms are comfy and the house is beautiful. :)

Lovely stay in a traditional old house in UNESCO Heritage-listed Ainokura. Amazing dinner, amazing breakfast, hot green tea always available, a yukata to wear in the house. Loved the atmosphere of this traditional property, and I had my best sleep of my Japan trip - very comfy mattress! Place is kept warm by the heaters. Loved everything about it and recommending everyone to stay here! Great value for money as well. Friendly hosts, while with limited English they make the stay very comfortable. There is even a warm small spa bath in the bathroom, do yourself a favor and use it especially on a chilly day! Everything was great.

At Akaokan, guests can relax in the spacious public hot-spring baths and visit the Historic Villages of Shirakawa-gō and Gokayama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located a 20-minute drive away.

Right on the bus stop. Very traditional Japanese style. Clean and nice onsen. Fantastic dinner and breakfast. If you want to have authentic Japanese holiday experience, you have to try this at least for one night.
