Located within 1.6 mi of Punta Cometa and 1.2 mi of Turtle Camp and Museum, Hotel Quinto Sol features rooms in Mazunte. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. The attention to detail at the Quinto Sol is amazing. From the architecture to the super friendly staff, everything was in place for us to have an amazing stay. The views from the balcony must be some of the best in town, the room was super clean and the bathroom is on another level compared to any hostel I've visited in Mexico. We had to leave because we did not book enough days (unfortunately) and Jonathan at the reception was nice enough to help us book another hotel last minute and even drive us there. Overall, one of the best hotel experience I've had in that price range, would repeat anytime.

Mazunte is best seen from the beaches. The town was not really our thing. It is not attractive unless you like dusty bohemian chaos. Great people watching. The beaches are beautiful. We found few fine restaurants (admittedly we did not sample all of the restaurants). El Copal was a gem.
I think we got to Mazunte at just about the right time. Major development work has occurred recently which will definitely alter the whole feel of the place going forward. If you're staying in the centre of Mazunte, be prepared for the fact that the predominant visitor is under 35
Some of the food options were great! We tried on "Authentic" Mexican kitchen and we knew we were in trouble when we heard the constant Ding, Ding, Ding from the microwave. Estrella Fugaz has great Mexican food, great coffee, nice view, but the staff don't seem to be very happy. This place has this European Modern Hippie culture going on. This is not your "Buenos Dias" kind of place, and the small sleepy Mexican Village feeling is lost in the often emotionless faces quickly walking by with their expresso and bread. We liked saying "Buenos Dias" just to watch the empty "no replies" walk by. Even the locals seem as if they are trapped in their own country, and some opened up at how much it has changed over the years, and their little town is no more. There is very little that would draw me back to Mazunte, and there are so many other places to visit that still have that sleepy little Mexican life to it, and where complete strangers can look at you in they eye, and with a smile and say "Buenos Dias"
Mazunte is a Place for hippies. The foreigners who live there do not integrate with the locals and it really doesn’t feel like Mexico anymore. Everything is overpriced, BUT Mazunte in itself with the beautiful landscape is very beautiful place
Mazunte has a very cool feel and bohemain vibe with a laid back atmoshpere! Locals are extremely friendly and welcoming and English is widely spoken. Many unique and awesome restaurants and everything is walkable in the town itself. However San Augustanillo and Zipolite are immediately close by and should be checked out as well so rent a scooter or take a taxi to see these places which offer their own unique perspective in this gorgeous part of Oaxaca!
We absolutely loved this little town right on amazing Mazunte Beach. Everyone is busy earning a living and selling their wares or setting up a restaurant or selling some juice or coffee or Mezcal. The whole town is only about 6 blocks by 4 blocks long so very walkable and we loved it! Young hip crowd. Many come for a week and end up staying for 5 months or 10 years. Every restaurant in the town had great food and the beach is amazing! We hiked almost every day up to watch the sunset or sunrise.
Mazunte
Ladies and gentleman, welcome to paradise! On the corner of a beach, built on a rock, it offers large rooms, with a view of the Pacific. Waking up in your comfy, king size bed, hearing the waves breaking in the background is like waking up from a dream. Only to realize, it is reality. Strolling bare feet on the beach when the sun comes up, has been the most enjoyable wake-up in a long time. We absolutely loved it, we will come back if we are ever lucky again to go return to el Pueblo Magico (Mazunte).
Mazunte
The room was absolutely perfect. It was so clean and very well laid out. The perfect amount of space and comfort. The fans provided were more than adequate, and the customer service from Carla and everyone on the property was far above expectations. It's one of those places that just has a great vibe. Everyone staying on the property was so friendly and the nearness to everything, yet the quietness, made this my go-to spot whenever I go back to Mazunte. Thanks for everything Carla!
Mazunte
This place has such a beautiful family feel. It is a simple construction but the host are so kind and caring that the place feels really warm and welcoming. And it makes for a really loving vibe. I will come back here again. Also it is only a 5 minute walk from the main stretch of Mazunte but far enough away that you won’t hear the noise of all the partying so if you want to sleep early and just have a quiet night you can!
Outstanding service and wonderful rooms. The rooms are very comfortable with working Wifi and hot water. Rooms 7 and 8 are superb. Great views all around. Hotel staff truly go above and beyond for any request from ordering taxis to arranging an early AM breakfast before departing. I cannot wait to stay again!
