We loved the breathtaking location

Enjoyed every aspect of the hotel.

Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful breakfast. Flexible and considerate of client requests.

Great spot for a night or two. Easy walking distance (15min) into the center of town for restaurants (although there are some nearby). Large supermarket 1 min walking. Staff very friendly and helpful!! Standard breakfast, and a good coffee machine. No problem to store a bicycle inside the hotel's secure extra room.

The staff was very nice. The room was clean.

This is a beautifully restored hotel that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but is just delightful on the interior. The owner-manager spent literally years carefully and thoroughly renovating this nearly 150 year old building, carefully preserving many old architectural elements that provide a truly charming atmosphere. The result is stunning! Also the breakfast buffet was amazing with such a wide array of delicious choices. Our stay here was well worth the slightly higher rate. The front desk staff turned out to be the owner and she was so helpful in directing us in exploring an old, nearby town that suited our interests perfectly.

Fantastic view to the river Douro and the vineyards. The breakfast was very good and complete. The moorings of the river cruise ships and the railway station are very close. Good and free carparking next to the hotel.

Beautiful property location and host/staff

Location, food, nature, luxury

It was the second time we came and it was even better. This time we decided to have dinner at the hotel and we were surprised of the great quality of the service and even more with the staff. We really want to give an huge thank you for the chef and for the restaurant hostess Sabrina Gasper who was with us almost all the time to explain each dish ,each wine and each dessert . She is amazing, nice, polite and definitely has an huge knowledge about the food... thank you so much for this experience... I would like also to thank Sabina at the reception. She was lovely and very professional. Thank you and we will be back for a third time.

Beautiful location and setting with a wonderful staff. Excellent restaurants and spa. Try the steam and sauna rooms! Schisto Restaurant is world class. Close to all the vineyards.

Amazing breakfast selection! Fresh and delicious!

Clean and modern. Nice staff. Great location.

Staying in one of the wine barrels was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Douro valley! The barrel room was such a fun and unique experience, but also surprisingly cozy and comfortable. Waking up surrounded by vineyards was just amazing! The whole property is beautiful, with stunning views and a really peaceful atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you just want to slow down, enjoy a glass of wine, and take it all in. The staff were lovely, friendly, and welcoming, and everything felt well taken care of. We really enjoyed walking around the vineyards and soaking up the atmosphere. It's not every day you get to sleep inside a giant wine barrel, and we're so glad we did! Definitely a place we'll remember for a long time. Would absolutely love to come back someday. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
