Myself and my daughter stayed at the apartment for nearly a week and will definitely be coming back. The apartment was very spacious, clean and had good quality amenities - all that was needed for a relaxing stay. The host Joanna was exceptional. She provided us with all the necessary guidance and was incredibly welcoming. She also included recommendations for local restaurants and cafes which were a great value for money. The location was very good, easy to find and walking distance from the beach and local restaurants. The neighbourhood was friendly and quiet in the evenings. It was also easily accessable for all major visit sites in Madeira. Would definitely recommend!

Great place. Easy from/to the airport. (About 10€. Taxi stand out front). Host was so welcoming. Room was huge. Comfy. Soft linens. Nice large bed. Big bathroom, nice towels and plenty of hot water in shower. Oh and a room with THIS VIEW!!! Right overlooking the ocean and a cove. Our balcony was perfect - room 10. Amazing service. Breakfast was simple buffet. Nicest people ever! So worth the stay. Definitely recommend.

    Machico resort is not for the night clubbing holiday maker, It was however for us a slow paced setting with a good selection of restaurants and supermarkets with walking routes for those who wish. The harbour offered boat trips, whale watching and surf lessons, the latter was enjoyed from the safety of a dry vantage point. Local bus into Funchal for 2-60 euro single was 50 mins away which opens up further opportunities for excursions and sight seeing like the red or yellow hop on hop off bus tours which operate from the promenade where the ticket is valid for 24 hours allowing to to spend time where the mood takes. Weather forecasting in resort will not take into account the drizzle from the mountains with can add a cooling break from the sunshine and occasional rain. Enjoy.

    A nice area to stay outside Funchal where I find it still preserves. We stayed in the best Modern Guesthouse, ate local foods in O’Gala and Massa Mia. They have two beaches. The rocky area and the sand area.

    Nice small village nearby 2 beaches with all the necessary shops (supermarkets) and several restaurants. Away from the buzzling city. 😄 But by car nearby some touristic hotspots like Santa Cruz, Funchal, Cristo Rei, Santana houses etc.

    Machico was good for food shopping, restaurants, and bars. We didn't use the beach, but saw lots of people swimming. The town is handy for some great walks on the east end of the island. We even managed a walk to Porta da Cruz and back from town.

    Machico has shops with souvenirs and snack bars and restaurants as well as a clean beach with golden sand and changing facilities. There is also a supermarket and bus station enabling travel to other destinations on the island. People are friendly and helpful. There are many places to simply sit and have a drink and a snack.

    Great village with range of facilities, as well as sandy beach (rare on island) together with pebble beach and harbour. Lots of places to eat or drink out, car parking (some free as well), supermarkets, shopping outlets, places of worship and walking that is safe.

    Great location, near Machico, but as others have mentioned you really need a car. I would recommend this anyway as Madeira has so many stunning places. It’s a small space (think hotel room with a small kitchenette), but great for making coffee and breakfast. I actually liked the fact it overlooked the airport, really cool to see the planes taking off and they do not go late into the night. The cafe across the road is great and really handy. Views, like most of Madeira are beautiful.

    This is really special place. Hidden in the village, but what a house! Really nice, clean, and hospitality from owner is amazing. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived (their home made wine) and in the morning he brought us fresh bread. View from terrace is stunning and I only regret I couldn’t stay longer. Next time I come back to Madeira this place is my number one choice!!!

    The best accommodation in Madeira, during our stay we didn’t miss anything. The owner is very helpful – when our flight from Madeira was canceled, he helped us find alternative accommodation. Once again, a great place to stay and a wonderful owner who is always ready to help.
