Hotel in Sagres
Located in the green surroundings of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park, the Memmo Baleeira offers an outdoor pool with magnificent Atlantic Ocean views and rooms with private balconies. We were there in April this year (2022) with our little 3-Year old son. Luckily we had the double rooms with view on the harbour where we could see the sunset every day. The hotel over exceeded our expectations! It's beautifully designed, the food was great and it's perfectly located between beaches and the city of Sagres. Plenty of space to move around and nice facilities for the kids. We will definitely come back!!!

A great base to either stay in and relax or go and explore the west coast. Great sea food to be had and if you explore further afield you’ll discover some gems. I’m not going to spoil your adventure so you can find them yourself.
Sagres is an amazing place to visit if you are looking for stunning views of the Algarve and the ocean, I would recommend you to go with someone, doesn’t seem REEEEALLY for solo traveling, but it’s up to you. Maybe you find love there. Also the city is so beautiful and looks like a beach village, which I love when I’m traveling. Run away from the big cities and stuff. It’s also good for surfing if you are up to.
Sagres is a sanctuary in Nature and the importance that Portugal had in its history at a time when the known world was divided by the Portuguese, Spanish and English courts. You breathe pure air and feel the ghosts of good people from the past and the hustle and bustle of crowds of sailors and discoverers who set out to sea with joy in their hearts and enough daring to face the unknown. Sagres means sacred ... Holy ground For those who have awakened their inner spirit and Love, they will feel beautiful emotions to the point of tears of joy in their eyes. In short, there is the Algarve with excellent beaches and hotels. And there are Sagres! A mecca of Biodiversity, Emotions, Love, Spirituality. It also has the best sunset on Cape S. Vicente. There is magic and peace in a perfect symbiosis between the sunset and the people who nestle on the cliff in silence until the sun crosses the horizon line into the sea. A Must to experience in a life time!
Sagres is easy to get around, the people are relaxed and friendly, the beaches are beyond belief and the surfing culture is amazing. It adds vibrancy and has opened the way for a well-supported visitor's experience...including great coffee. I visited in December, mild temps and rain doesn't stay around for long. Loved the simplicity of Sagres.
There's a great Indian Restaurant in the town. Gorgeous food. Well worth walking too. Lots of little bars and restaurants on the main strip on the road that runs parallel to the beach. We left early in the morning and there was a bakery down a back street that was open early for coffee and baked goods. Surfy vibe in the town.
It is not a big city/town, therefore, it was so quiet and relaxing. All beaches were not crowded. Sunset watching is wonderful! You can enjoy many things - surfin, diving, hiking, bike tour, .... Seafood was excellent, and foods (at supermarket) were low price, in average. (depends on what you buy) According to local people, you should not miss eating sweet potatoes (local products).
Sagres
We had an incredible stay at the lemonTree surfhouse, the place was really cosy and easy to find, our hosts Noemi and Willy are just great human beings you want to get to know better. The cherry on the top would be the breakfast in the morning, just the best thing to start out a day in Sagres, enjoy the sun and the beach. My only regret is that we could not stay longer there, but it just gives us a good reason to come back again. ;)
Sagres
I loved this hotel. It is the hotel I stayed in after hiking the rota Vicentina. A great place to rest and recuperate from the hike. Just 250 feet from the beach, beautiful view, balcony. I love the European hotels with their balconies. It was very well located. Outside are several restaurants and shops. Located, near the center of town. This hotel worked great for my visit. Close to some historical locations also.
Sagres
Great place, short walk to the beaches, shops, bars. It issituated above the family restaurant where the food looked unbelievable and sadly we didn't manage to eat there during our stay. The facilities were brilliant, the shared kitchen is ample for the 5/6 rooms they have. Awesome coffee machine. We had a great stay and would 100% book again if we find ourselves in Sagres.
Our room was more up-to-date than we expected based on the photos we had seen online and the bathroom / shower was the best of our entire trip (we stayed in 11 different hotels over two weeks). We loved the pool, the proximity to the beach, and the option for onsite dining. I'm happy we chose to stay here and would definitely return in the future.
Sagres is small so location was not an issue. We didn't order breakfast but the room had a fully equipped kitchen and we could even prepare our dinners. Air conditioning was there but the room was cool so we didn't even use it all the time. Our room (saffron) had a separate balcony which was a nice bonus. Overall very satisfied with the hotel.
Sagres
The property is super updated and clean!! We thought it was a brand new hotel but found out later that it has been in business for over 9 years! The service is excellent and you can tell that they really want you to enjoy your stay. They will go above and beyond. The location is great it is super close to everything and walking is definitely doable.
Sagres
Two amazing beaches were walkable, with the sagres natura surf rental shop on the way to Praia do Tonel, where we surfed. We loved the common areas, and the breakfast buffet (for €10) that we also packed a sandwich for lunch at. The showers had great water pressure and unlimited hot water! And everyone was so laid back. Sagres is very underrated!
Great location to the beach and walking distance to restaurants, shops and even the supermarket. Great swimming pool and surrounding area. This is a new and modern hotel with friendly helpful staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and the next time I am in Sagres, I will be staying here again.
Lovely historic spacious hotel and comfy beds. We enjoyed the well appointed community spaces and delicious breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location on the edge of town overlooking the Atlantic was fabulous and good for hiking or biking. Walkable to things in Sagres and the beach.
Everything about the property has been so well thought out for families to enjoy the beauty of Sagres and its beaches in pure comfort. The ocean Villas have great views and very spacious and cleaned every day too which is a bonus.
