The place was wonderful. A group of recently built apartments around a fairly large pool. There are 3 beaches within walking distance (a good walk: minimum 1.4Km) all protected and quite nice (not overcrowded). The kitchen was comfortable for 4 people, with a Moka as well as a Nespresso. Two balconies made it possible to stay out and enjoy the relatively fresh air both morning and afternoon. The staff was always extremely helpful and pleasant. Charger for EV in the underground parking (in the end, I did not use it).

Cute little 1 bedroom apartment! Honestly big enough they could make the couch a pull out. It was the perfect location in Sagres, with easy street parking and walking distance to many attractions. The host provided extra detail for how to access which was helpful and we had no issues! As others have said, it is above a restaurant but it closes at 10. I was shocked how quite it was in the bedroom, and AC was great. Beds are very firm which is no issue to us but may be to others.

Sagres is beautiful. Perfect for people who are not afraid of wind or cold water. Because of that you find yourself in places with not too many people and always have more than enough space in the beach. Some beaches are full of trailervans but people are nice and chill.

Sagres is history lovers and sports enthusiasts paradise -offering plenty of hiking, beach time, surfing, and cycling. The views are amazing, and the Fort is not only impressive, but also describes natural heritage while offering spectacular views. As for the restaurants, perhaps it was end of the season blues, but the serving staff seemed a little put-off you were there. The brewpub was not exceptional except for the fact you could get a decent beer, something rare in Portugal. Their beer, however, was expensive, and at the prices charged not meant to encourage people to linger.

Amazing place lots of restaurants and bars but it is all spaced out if you have good legs this is no problem. Of course you can hire a car and drive out at night but if you want to drink you need to walk as we didn't see 1 taxi on our 9 night stay. Find accommodation near to Mareta beach as that's about central. Very young area lots of fit surfing people day and night which is great. There are 3 beaches within walking distance Tonel is the one for surfing if you can do!! Mareta beach is the nicest of the 3. There are many more you can drive to. The fort is interesting. Can be very windy as it is on the cliff top! We love the Algarve the whole lot of it I am addicted to it.

A beautiful town with everything you need on a family...

A beautiful town with everything you need on a family holiday all within an easy walk of most accommodation. Not too busy which was an added bonus and the locals are all very friendly. A stunning beach and plenty of local attractions that will immerse you in the history of the area and Portugal. A visit to the fort is a must for history buffs and watching the sunset at the lighthouse is essential.

Sagres is a great place to escape the crowds and relax.

Sagres is a great place to escape the crowds and relax. It’s a small town where everything is within walking distance. Buses connect it to nearby cities, and both Bolt and Uber operate in the area. I recommend renting a car if you want to explore the surrounding beaches. It's mainly a destination for surfing, with pleasant temperatures and a steady breeze – not as hot as other parts of the Algarve. There are also plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling in the beautiful natural surroundings. One thing that surprised me a bit was that some restaurants accept cash only, so it’s good to have some cash with you just in case.

More traffic than I expected approaching the fort area. The weather definitely has an impact on the experience, if it is wet and windy it is difficult to enjoy the beaches and coastal walks and the town does not have much else to offer.

It was exceptional. Intended as a fitting end to our Portugal discovery driving tour it fully realised my expectations. As for my wife, it exceeded her expectations, so a result. The Breakfast was great. Tip: get your tray in the breakfast room and go upstairs to the public part to enjoy the view. The Pizza place attached was wonderful.The pool with its bar and food was impeccable. Not a lot to Sagres, but the beach was lovely, plenty of bars/food etc so no complaints. Laid back vibe.

The hotel has an excellent location next to Mareta Beach, which is also on the route of the Fisherman's Trail through Sagres. I had no kettle in my room; however reception staff sorted out a pot of hot water to enable me to have tea in my room. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice for me. My room was very comfortable, light, airy and a good size. The hotel has its own pool, but I did not use this as the sea is so close.

after a busy Lisbon and Lagos this was something different. The Sagres with its beaches, waves, wildlife and people not rushing but living the moment was something special for soul. Pontalaia apartamentos was a tidy, comfortable, clean, cosy small hotel.
