Sagres is easy to get around, the people are relaxed and friendly, the beaches are beyond belief and the surfing culture is amazing. It adds vibrancy and has opened the way for a well-supported visitor's experience...including great coffee. I visited in December, mild temps and rain doesn't stay around for long. Loved the simplicity of Sagres.
There's a great Indian Restaurant in the town. Gorgeous food. Well worth walking too. Lots of little bars and restaurants on the main strip on the road that runs parallel to the beach. We left early in the morning and there was a bakery down a back street that was open early for coffee and baked goods. Surfy vibe in the town.
It is not a big city/town, therefore, it was so quiet and relaxing. All beaches were not crowded. Sunset watching is wonderful! You can enjoy many things - surfin, diving, hiking, bike tour, .... Seafood was excellent, and foods (at supermarket) were low price, in average. (depends on what you buy) According to local people, you should not miss eating sweet potatoes (local products).
I am kind of person who know Sagres for a long time, since in my younger age i went to sagres 1 month per year for 15-20 years :) But on nowadays Sagres changed a lot, its a beach village great to relax, going to the beach and doing surf if thats something that you like. Locals are very pleasant and normally like to help travellers, in the past they were not that supportive but i believe time changes the mindset. About food, since they have daily fresh fish i advise you to eat fish, ideally regional food, it worths the price. If you prefer meat you will have it, but the quality normal, nothing fancy.
The beach was beautiful but it was extremely windy /chilly when we were there and a lot of places cafés /beach bar closed at 19.30 which was very disappointing. We visited end of June and were told that holiday season starts in August so if you want a quiet weekend away its fine.
I found Sagres a fascinating town. Just touristy enough to keep it interesting, but it still has a "local" vibe to it. It has shops, cafes, restaurants and bars with everything you could wish for and there are so many gorgeous beaches in the area.
The location is just perfect, just above Mareta Beach, with amazing views of the sea. The decor is beach-house simplicity which we love. The room and balcony were extra spacious and also offered amazing views. The pool area has plenty of loungers and even in August was quiet,. We are regular visitors to Sagres and whilst we usually spend the majority of our trips in rental homes, we often start our stay in a hotel - this is one we will definitely return to on our next visit to Sagres.
Sagres
We had an incredible stay at the lemonTree surfhouse, the place was really cosy and easy to find, our hosts Noemi and Willy are just great human beings you want to get to know better. The cherry on the top would be the breakfast in the morning, just the best thing to start out a day in Sagres, enjoy the sun and the beach. My only regret is that we could not stay longer there, but it just gives us a good reason to come back again. ;)
Sagres
Virtual check-in was a nice experience. The host, Nieves, did a nice self-explicatory video to collect the keys and find the apartment. That was a plus during arrival. Location is quite nice, 5 minutes walking from Sagres center where the restaurants and shops are located. The house is full of sun light, turning it very comfortable. It was very well equipped, with everything we needed to stay for 5 days.
Sagres
The Sagres Time Apartments exceeded our expectations, the location, the amenities, view were topnotch. What made it even more awesome was the wonderful property manager, he went out of his way to make our stay wonderful. We just wish we would have had 2 days and not one day at the property
Hotel and rooms are gorgeous. Comfy rooms. Lovely decor. Stylish. Breakfast was wonderful - lots of fresh fruit and fresh OJ. Hotel restaurant served wonderful food. The hotel is very well located for local restaurants and shops.

Beautiful view of the sea. Nice pool area. Good balcony. Friendly staff. Best play to stay in Sagres, and one bit of the Algarve that is not overrun with tourists, although much busier than a few years ago.

Sagres
Pura Vida is a sweet mix between a hostel and a dive shop. Although most guests are not divers, it’s the best to share adventures with the people you’re staying with.
This was a lovely place…very comfortable and accommodating in every way. Location in walking distance to most of Sagres. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Room was comfortable, hostel was well designed, breakfast was great, and staff were friendly. Close to a good beach for surfing (5 min walk)
