Property exceeded all our expectations. Rooms were very clean and quiet. The breakfasts were on site and included a wide assortment of healthy and delicious choices. The availability of the self service wine and snacks on an honor system was brilliant. The outdoor terrace area was well kept, attractively landscaped and created a very private place to relax. The property was well located within easy walk to the Villa Nova De Gaia waterfront, shops, and places to sample Portugal’s food, wine, and Port. We were fortunate to have found the Caleway.

Beautiful part of Porto, right over the river with plenty to do. Most of the Porto wine "caves" are on this side of the river but getting across is a quick uber ride. We did a Tuk Tuk tour as well and got to enjoy a Fado performance at night. New Years Eve dinner cruise was great but book ahead so you don't miss out! I would definitely visit again!

The area has plenty of interesting things to visit.
The area has plenty of interesting things to visit. Of course, the region is very well known for the vineyards and the respective Port wine cellars, which you can visit and even have a wine tasting. A walk by the river is also recommended.

Being across the river from the old town means gorgeous views and a wonderful relaxed vibe. So many great places to eat and drink all within a short walk. And the old town is easily accessible by foot, tram, even cable car. You are surrounded by the port warehouses, and other renovated industrial buildings. The whole area has had a recent facelift and the city as a whole is very safe and friendly. Everywhere you go the staff and shopkeepers go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay. Except the lady in the tourist information. She must have been having a bad day!

Great for walking, views and access to historical areas of both sides of the river. People are suer friendly, and the area is very touristy. We walked the waterfront for several miles and had a great time, as well as the normal touristy stuff.

We had a fantastic stay at The House of Sandeman.
The location is excellent, just next to the Douro River with a spectacular view of the opposite river side and the Ponte Luís I Bridge.
Our room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Room and suite decors are amazing. Furthermore, the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
We would definitely choose this accommodation again when staying in Porto, respectively, Vila Nova de Gaia.
Excellent location, stunning view from our room. We were in Porto during a heatwave and the pool saved us! Everything was incredibly clean and the included breakfast was delicious. Stylish rooms and excellent décor. Attentive reception and housekeeping staff. The hotel helped organize a wine tour of the Douro Valley and we didn't have to do anything other than show up and pay. Highly recommend.
We chose this hotel because it had secured parking on site and was next to a shopping center with food court and grocery store. it also had a small table and refrigerator in the room so we could buy take away food and eat all our meals in our room due to Covid concerns. Normally we would not chose a hotel so far from tourist locations, each day we took an Uber into Porto for sightseeing.
Fabulous hotel with amazing views over Porto, staff friendly & provided an excellent service in all areas. Good choices at breakfast & restaurant was well worth the visit. Excellent location for visiting Porto on foot - the lift up to the hotel is a bonus after a long day. Wonderful visit to the Douro Valley & vineyards. Will definitely return & no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Absolutely beautiful new hotel with the most perfect view of Porto and incredibly friendly staff. We loved the information map with restaurant and shopping recommendations, the ‘first round is on us’ mini bar and the little surprises like fresh fruit and pasteis de nata left each day. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful and the rooftop terrace is gorgeous.
The lady in the hotel was very gentle and helpful. Due to the fires in Portugal I could not make the initial reservation and showed up in the hotel three days earlier. Although both reservations were non-refundable she accepted to refund me for the non-show day. An excellent breakfast and very willing staff to help on everything we asked.

When I arrived late back in Porto the weather was too bad to continue my journey, so I tried to book at several hotels around the airport and even in towards town but there were no availabilities. Apparently, this is an almost constant issue. The Holiday Inn Porto Gaia was the only available hotel and the service was excellent.
What a hotel! A must stay when in Porto and we preferred staying on the Gaia side. Literally right next to port lodges and walkable to everything. It was like the Ritz Carlton with Marriot prices. We ate at the Yeatman restaurant which was the best meal of my life. Absolutely loved this place and will be returning.
Love the concept and the ability to stay in a renovated historic building of an iconic part of Porto history. The common room has amazing views of the river, the sunset, and the city of Porto. Facilities are tastefully designed and well maintained. Staff are fluent in multiple languages and overall quite helpful.
Every member of the staff was exceptionally nice (this hotel only employs happy, helpful people). Our room overlooked the Douro and Porto. The view was stunning at night. Extraordinary breakfast. We liked the location because we could walk to the Quintas. Uber to Porto attractions was inexpensive (7 Euro).
Big, modern and very clean apartment with a great location at Vila Nova de Gaia. Stunning view of Porto within 50m out of the flat. Easy to get to many places by foot, proximity to a metro. Nice and well equipped kitchen, strong wi-fi, privat garage. English speaking host, friendly, welcoming.
The accommodation was extremely clean and well put together. The hosts were great and very easy to talk to. It's a short walk to Porto. Very reminiscent of a hotel room. I would absolutely recommend staying here.
Great location, really easy access to Vila Nova de Gaia and Porto. Literally located next to the Port wine caves. Property was very good and met our expectations for cleanliness and features
I loved the location, the restaurants were close the city was a 20 minutes walk to Vila Nova de Gaia the second town to Porto city. All the little shops close to the apartment.
I really enjoyed my stay here. Short walk from many shops and close to the best view of Porto. Rooftop terraces were beautiful. Great value for the money.
Excellent location to explore Porto. Easy to walk across the bridge, and very early to return from the river by the hotel elevator, 10/10 for location!
