I was completely satisfied with every aspect of my first experience staying at a Drury plaza resort. From the quality of the meals to the room to the small touches throughout the hotel and in particular, the outstanding staff. Everyone was upbeat, smiling and very helpful.

Beautiful modern comfortable self contained unit with lots of coffee and the welcome bottle of wine was a nice touch. The location is a slightly grungy character-filled neighbourhood filled with the typical single houses of Charleston. I loved walking around looking at the architecture. Walking distance to a lot of bars and restaurants, and not too far from downtown.

We got such a warm welcome from the front desk every time we came in. They were so helpful. The lobby is cheerful and warm. The room was ridiculously clean. The whole place was just very comfortable to stay in. Breakfast was so delicious and the woman running the breakfast service was friendly and charming. I sneezed and she was far away and let out a very southern, god bless you. We got a great recommendation from the awesome DeMarco at the front desk for dinner nearby and ended up going twice.

Charleston is a beautiful, clean city with a lot of sightseeing options. I enjoyed the historic district the most where there are many historic homes and quaint streets. It was both sad and interesting to learn more about the history of Charleston. My travel partner and I took many tours including a sunset dinner cruise, dolphin sighting on a sailboat (we even helped raise a sail), Boone Plantation, a late evening Ghost and Graveyard tour, a horse and buggy ride, the Aquarium and the Charleston Museum. We took an Uber to Sullivan's Island to sit on the beach for a few hours and ate at a restaurant there. We also took tours of some of the homes such as Heyward-Washington, Aiken-Rhett and Joseph Manigault. It is a very walkable city and we always felt safe. I thought the horse and buggy ride was overrated, but I guess it's a touristy must-do. The Boone Plantation tour with transportation is only four hours, but I could have used another hour to explore the grounds and buildings. I also recommend visiting some of the graveyards, I particularly liked the Circular Church graveyard. Charleston also has a lively nightlife scene due to the large College of Charleston campus. We saw quite a few bachelorette parties. There were probably bachelor parties too, but they're not so obvious since guys don't wear tiaras and sashes. I would highly recommend visiting Charleston. The week we were there in September the temperature varied from hot and humid; chilly and drizzling; and perfect dry, warm weather. None of the days were unbearable one way or the other.

I highly recommend this historic, romantic and haunted city!

I highly recommend this historic, romantic and haunted city! Stayed in a historic Inn, took a voyage to Fort Sumter, nighttime ghost walking tour culminating in the Unitarian church cemetery! Then took a regular historic walking tour and finally a sunset cruise of Charleston Harbor. It was a delightful anniversary trip! So bring your walking shoes and get out to see the sites, shop, eat delicious food and learn all about this incredible city.

I was looking forward to visiting Charleston, especially after seeing pictures of its quaint charm. Unfortunately, I found that it wasn't much different from other cities. Historical charm was mostly seen at touristy plantation museums and gardens. Magnolia Plantation is a beautiful place, but the mosquitoes are horrendous due to the swampy lands. If visiting, bring your repellents! A cute place to eat is the Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar, which is located in downtown Charleston. The food is excellent but kind of pricey ($35-$50 average per entree). Getting around Charleston can be a bit hectic, and the streets are narrower than most large cities.

Charleston was a great area to visit with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and other conveniences nearby. We liked having the mall, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and lots of different places to eat within easy reach. Getting around and finding everything we needed was convenient, and we enjoyed our time in the area overall.

Charleston is an extremely interesting historic and interesting city. There are sites related to colomial times, the Revolutionary War, the days of slavery, the Civil War and beyond. There are also some beautiful buildings and homes, Fort Sumpter, as excellent museum of African American history, as well as one of the oldest synagogues in the US. As a student of history, that is what interested me. I also enjoyed staying in a historic home, turned B&B. In two days, I did not see everything that was recommended. I did not shopping, so did not visit any of the shopping centers. The one drawback is that at that time of year, the heat and humidity were extreme, which limited my energy.

It's a beautiful city with lots to do. Very quaint, but hot as heck in July. Loved the beach. The one you had to pay for, can't remember the name. It was clean and not terribly crowded. Lots of great places to eat, and great if you are a history lover.

This is the most we have ever paid to stay in a Holiday Inn Express. It was the weekend and accommodation in Charleston is ridiculously expensive. Having said that the hotel is smart and modern. Our room was spacious and bed very comfy. Bathroom on the small side. Breakfast was good. Location is in downtown but still a 40 minute walk to the centre or $20 plus uber ride
