It’s a beautiful property with a very personable and approachable team of staff members. The long front porch with rocking chairs is a great place to sit. It used to be long stay hotel in the 20s and is located on the very lovely Northwestern campus in the Lakeshore Historic District. The majestic Lake Michigan is two blocks away and there are stately houses on tree filled blocks There’s a wholefoods two boocks away.

I loved how friendly the reception staff were. Carlos, Reena and Gerard were incredibly helpful and made sure that I had a great experience. Breakfast was so good! The room was great and the beds were very comfortable! Location is good. Lots of places to eat and to shop around.

    My grad school friends and I met in Evanston because that was where we’d met, nearly 50 years ago. It’s a lovely, safe town with a beach on the lakefront, a great university campus, lots of good restaurants, and easy access to Chicago, one of my favorite cities. We walked miles each day in town, and drove into Chicago to see a special exhibit at the Chicago Institute of Art.

    Quiet, civilized, safe, attractive and well maintained.

    Quiet, civilized, safe, attractive and well maintained. Walkable / bikeable. Polite and friendly. The beaches and parks on Lake Michigan are a pleasant find. I hope to get to the Block museum and attend some of the cultural activities (concerts etc) in the future.

    Evanston is really pretty and a great place to stay if you want to visit Chicago without staying downtown. Some great restaurants in the area and the Northwestern campus offers some great lakeshore views of the Chicago skyline.

    Second attempt to review. Worst hotel imaginable. Can’t believe Hilton puts their name on it. Worst value I have ever experienced. Small rooms, tiny bathrooms No food service Staff knows nothing about area Towels will scratch face so old and rough Unbelievably expensive

    Room was dark and dated.

    Room was dark and dated. No coffee machine in room (just hot water pot and instant coffee) and no fresh coffee in lobby either! Restaurant was freezing with A/C and uncomfortable to eat there. Poor access to outlets in room. Only plus was the shower!

    Great hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff, from Valet to Front desk to housekeeping. When they realized my wife was using a walker, staff made arrangements to move us to a room closer to the elevators.

    The facilities are pretty old and shabby. Need to renovate. The shower space is very narrow. Clogging is quite often. The carpet cannot say is clean. Lighting of the room is very cheap.
