Tancos doesn't have that much to offer, but it is a quaint village on the margin of the river Tagus and in the middle of the river sits Almourol Castle. You can drive to it or hike from the village and the views as you are walking up to the castle and from the top tower are worth the visit. The short boat trip (3mins) to get to the castle adds to its charm. Eating at Almourol restaurnt is also a good value for money option. The food is very good and the service atentive.JocelynPortugal
