It's a very traditional Spanish City away from the Costa's, So much history and some beautiful architecture and views of the gorge and distant mountains, and you can get there by train! Ronda is a stunning town with phenomenal and astonishingly beautiful views. Deservedly popular. Being inland, it can get very hot and any trip down below the bridge requires a lot of physical fitness. Soak yourself with water before going down, you will soon dry out. Car parking can be difficult and many streets are narrow. Plenty of restaurants and ice cream outlets and lots of gift shops on the main shopping pedestrianised street. Ronda offered lovely walks from both sides of the famous bridge. Good restaurants and also casual dining. A full range of shops. Safe place at night. Amazing views of the countryside all around. We loved the old streets, the paved squares, the Arabic influences, all the churches, the bullring, the English promenade with amazing views over the gorge...and the star of the show, the Puente Nuevo - an incredible feat of engineering. Ronda is a small town with a modern part on one side of El Tajo gorge, and the historic part on the other side. Its very easy to walk around the entire town in a day and you are always drawn back to the gorge and the spectacular bridge. The historic part has narrow, cobbled lanes and alleyways with beautiful views of the gorge and expensive restaurants. The modern side has a long, wide walking street running through the middle of Ronda with bars, restaurants and ice cream shops where the whole population seems to gather in the evening to meet their friends. Here the restaurants are reasonably priced, and its lively, safe and very Spanish after the day trippers have left to return to Malaga.Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom
