Llanerchydol Hall Suites, hotel in Welshpool

Featuring garden views, Llanerchydol Hall Suites in Welshpool features accommodations, a garden, and a terrace.

Nothing, a brokendown old mansion house near nothing. Rude manager, unhelpful, wearing builder clothing, no response to request to cancel. Many messages to Bookings at the manager request and no responsibility for on his part. Getting to the Hall was difficult on a muddy single track road. On reviewing the house, you see a house nearby with broken windows.you get to stand outside the main house while ringing The bell for help. On the long way to accommodation, walk is booken and dangerous. Then, upstairs to a room with a fire stove, you need to start and feed for heat. The inside is three rooms a radiator in one room. Updated but too large to heat and feel comfortable. It is very dark and unpleasant. We tried to cancel but was blown off by the attending person.

The Kings Head, hotel in Welshpool

Featuring a bar, water sports facilities and views of mountain, The Kings Head is located in Meifod, 17 miles from Dolforwyn Castle.

The room we had was large, clean, and had some charming historic elements (i.e., fireplace mantle and exposed beams). Half of us were in a separate "pod" at the rear of the hotel; it, too, was clean, attractive, and comfortable. It is a great value, especially when you factor in the amazing breakfast - our best breakfast of a 4-week stay in the UK & Ireland.

We are both fairly familiar with the area, so did not in fact go to Welshpool this time. But it's an interesting little town, check what is the current market day - it used to be very interesting on Tuesdays but may have changed. The area has many interesting features with nice walks , Powys castle and the Edinburgh woollen mill. The comments below relate to the area not just the town. Welshpool itself is really only a few streets so its easy to get round.

Welshpool and Llanfair light railway was a thrill and enjoyable journey. The staff are friendly. A worth visiting. Welshpool town is lovely and friendly people. If you like the kind of witchy, hippy and spiritually, then do visit this shop, "The Witch of the Willows". i went in and feel relax, the smell is so nice is should stay longer and explore the shop. Andrew Logan museum of sculpture: it was amazing and unique experiences. You wont be disappointed. There's a tiny café. Lake Vyrnwy is an extraordinary and beautifu, peaceful location. a visit is a must too.

The friendliness and welcome were superb.

The friendliness and welcome were superb. We loved the history, especially the Royal Oak and the castles (we took a cab up there as it was too far to walk) but we didn't want to miss it, or the views. The countryside scenery was fabulous. On a retail side, the shops were all very interesting, too - great customer service. And special kudos to the BHF Shop - so kind, so helpful, and great products for the tourists. And thanks again to the Royal Oak for allowing all those beautiful dogs into your hotel - I will always remember that with special thoughts! My family and I would definitely recommend the Royal Oak and Welshpool to other travellers/visitors - and great for all family members - everything being close by in the town. My son and wife enjoy hiking so they cabbed up to the castle but took the long scenic hike back :-) Definitely something here for everyone, no matter what your age is!!

I know the town well, and covid and the advent of Tesco and other supermarkets are in danger of killing off the centre. At 11.30 on a Friday evening on a Bank Holiday weekend there wasn't a soul in sight . We were visiting friends in the area but I don't think I'd choose it as a base for a holiday

A delightful little cabin beautifully fitted out by Michele and Tim. We were very comfortable and found it an excellent location for what we wanted to do especially Powys castle which is just round the corner. We arranged for a continental breakfast on each of the mornings of our stay which were delicious. Just go and chill and enjoy the lovely countryside and in May watch the young lambs jumping and playing in the adjoining fields. We loved it and if in the area will certainly be back.

Did not opt for breakfast. The immediate surroundings were stupendous. But the location is very far from the station and transportation from Welshpool station to the Hotel became a big problem as no taxis were available, nor was there any public transport. The Hotel should provide a Taxi pick up (at a charge of 5-6 pounds) from the station for travellers coming by train.

Lovely old cottage, nice big open kitchen/dining. Fab big garden with loads to explore, great views. Good to have the decked area to sit out. Set on tiny lane, needs own transport. Nearest pubs/food 12-15 mins. Walks from the door in amazing hills, easy drives to local attractions. Welshpool c. 25-30 mins is nearest large town.

The location was good and quiet with a beautiful view. However the instructions do need to say whether they are coming from Welshpool or the other way. Plenty of hot water in sink and shower. The host was easily available. Beds very comfortable.

Excellent hotel and very convenient for visiting Powis Castle - but don't follow satnav as it drops you in a small private car park in the middle of Welshpool and it is another two miles!!!
