Property info

Holmdale has been thoughtfully renovated by the current owners, who have created a stylish space for family and friends and sleeps up to four guests in two bedrooms over two storeys. The open plan kitchen – diner with its log burner is the perfect hub for your stay, with a separate living room, and two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a lovely en-suite shower room with WC and basin. The second bedroom has a zip and link bed that is ordinarily set up as a twin. If you would prefer the beds to be made into a double please mention this when making your booking. The family bathroom has a shower over a bath which is a great place to soak after a day’s walking. The central location of Holmdale puts guests right in the heart of popular Ambleside, but on sunny days the rear of the property provides a solace of peace and quiet. Good Wi-Fi, digital radio and smart-TV provide you with all the connections you need, making Holmdale a great choice for a break. In the back yard there is a separate secure outbuilding with a washing machine and ample room to store your bikes and kit. Parking on Compston Road is limited to one hour parking disc only (disc provided in the house), but there is a parking permit provided for the local carpark only a few minutes walk away.

Ambleside is a popular vibrant town and the perfect base for a holiday to the South Lakes with plenty of amenities and scenic walks close by. Lake Windermere is on the doorstep offering a variety of water sports and lake cruises, with Bowness providing pubs, theatre, cinemas, shops and eateries to suit all tastes. For those wanting to explore a little further afield, there is so much to see and do only a short drive or bus trip away. A quick way to visit the sites and walks on the far side of the lake can be accessed by taking the ferry from Bowness.
