Really lovely place building next to the pretty river. Rooms were spacious and quiet, and had lots of conveniences, like a range of coffee/tea, water by our bed- love the designer head board in the room!

The breakfast was good, nice restaurant with river views . Very noisy on arrival on the Saturday, a very busy place.
A 10-minute walk from the center of Bedford, d'Parys offers luxurious rooms and an informal dining experience incorporating a bar and coffee shop.

Staff were welcoming and helped us find out more about this historic property. Restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. Location near the river was beautiful and must be lovely in the summer. Bedroom was comfortable and had everything we needed.
Mercure Bedford Center Hotel is a wonderfully vibrant hotel, set in the busy market town of Bedford. Relax in the Bar before dining in the Restaurant.

Large twin room with all modern facilities. Breakfast was good with a range of options. location is very central and in a good area of Bedford. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel decor on the inside and in the rooms is of a good modern standard, unlike the outside appearance, this is one hotel that could do with some cladding.
A 5-minute walk from Bedford rail station and a 10-minute walk from the town center, Verve Hotel offers rooms with free high-speed WiFi, a bar and a restaurant. There is also free private parking.

Bedford has a great museum & art collection at The Higgins & just around the corner is the world famous John Bunyan museum.Sadly the High Street is in decline with the recent proliferation of out of town shopping centres, but the river front Embankment,Russell Park & the site of Bedford Castle make for good walks. The town has some nice cafes & pubs & there is a market in the square on Saturdays-mainly fruit & veg & food. There are other stalls outside Boots selling clothes. On the other side of town is the larger Bedford Park, complete with Victorian bandstand & public swimming pool. Bedford has some lovely architecture & interesting old churches & pubs.
There is a new cinema on the outskirts of town.
For clothes shopping etc Rushden Lakes & Milton Keynes are a short drive away,as are many diverse pretty country village pubs for dinner. There is a large independent book shop in town which is worth a visit.

Bedfords most redeeming features are the River Great Ouse with many walks along the embankment and further, 2 large well managed parks, plenty of history. As a base there are 2 amazing aircraft museums within 30 miles, closest is The shuttlworth collection at Old Warden, a bit further is Duxford Imperial War Museum. There are many other interesting attractions only a short drive away. As well as some really good hotels where quality and service are excellent The Barns for example,

Due to the bitter cold weather it was was not the ideal place although the market was on and I got the wreathes for the church yards and cemetery so it saved me another trip to Bedford , there was a winter wonderland in Bedford park that is the first time I have ever known anything like that to be in the park.

The large parks were very well kept and made for a pleasant walk. There is quite a contrast between some areas, the waterfront area is good but some of the suburb areas are quite run down and you may wish to avoid after dark. Plenty of places to eat out.

A pretty town by the river but the town centre is truly grotty. Walked down the gorgeous d'Parys avenue into convivium of homeless street dwellers noisily drunk and swearing and at least two groups of weed smokers outside St Peters church. The high street was full of very rowdy groups. Then the serene river, along the embankment and up past the museum.
Bedford seems to have two sides, tree lined avenues and riverside and a town centre itself that is in the throes of becoming destitute.

I've never been to Bedford before but was pleasantly surprised. The walk along the river is lovely. There are there great museums, all free of charge. Lots of good restaurants, people were really friendly. We'll definitely be back.
Originally planned to stay in Milton Keynes as it would have been closer to the sporting event event we planned to see.
Due to lack of availability at Milton Keynes decided to try Bedford. Pleased to say the location of the hotel and the proximity to the Bedford retail park 5 minutes drive up the road worked ok for us and the extra distance required to get to the sporting event was offset by the cost of the hotel so 100% happy and would use the hotel again. Also parking was readily available.
Excellent location for walking into Bedford (appx 5-8 mins)Breakfast was a cook it yourself continental style breakfast, with a Microwave and Toaster facilities. So scrambled eggs and beans on toast type breakfast. The hotel provided the Tea bags, cereals and complimentary cakes and fruit but you have to bring your own milk. I bought my own eggs, ham and beans. Basically buy what you want for breakfast: different!!. Owner called in to chat to make sure everything was ok which was a nice touch.
The hotel was perfectly situated for a short walk into town, also easy to access the main route out of Bedford to reach our next destination at Twinwood.
The room was lovely and light with a big bay window overlooking the garden. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bed linen and pillows were of good quality.
Good size very comfortable bath with quality toiletries and beautiful soft white towels.
Enjoyed the hot chocolate and biscuits.
Delicious breakfast and evening meal.
The staff were excellent, both at check in and in the hotel restaurant where I dined in the evening. The room was big and comfortable and well stocked with tea coffee and mineral water. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure excellent.
Best of all was the location - close enough to the town for convenience but far enough to not hear any noise and the car park was a relief as I’ve stayed at other Bedford hotels that are a nightmare!
Brilliant apartment, very central location, and Bedford river is a peaceful 3-minute walk away. We stayed in Bedford for a week as we were visiting family (we are from kent) I will be returning in the new year and would love to stay here again. Great staff, cozy apartment, and great facilities including an amazing coffee machine, Netflix, and sheltered private parking.

Excellent hotel in Bedford centre, if not even the best hotel in town.
We had a wonderful stay, thank you Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel for being so amazing!
- Spacious room
- Super friendly staff
- Fridge in room
- Amazing view from top floor
- Parking right next to hotel (£5 per night charged by hotel)
- Large flat screen tv
- Fast Wi-Fi
The hotel is lovely and a great location. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs, and the food looked great although we dined elsewhere with friends. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was spacious, but the family option was a pull out sofa bed so not ideal.
It was in Bedford Town and walking distance to the train station. 😁
Plus I could come down for dinner before 10pm and breakfast at 7am cheaper than Premier Inn's Brewers fare food. 😋
Check in was quick BUT.........what I didn't like was.....🤔
The property is in a great location and also once inside, it has probably the best set of facilities compared to all other similar type of short term rental properties in Bedford. The kitchen and bedroom is especially good.
staff were as always friendly helpful, breakfast was as always a wide range and done well, i have stayed many times at this location as its central for the reasons i come to bedford, and easy for the motorway on leaving,
Such as nice smelling bousy and glittered hotel. Very clean fridge inside the room, cosy bed, Hotel staff were polite.
Definetly my place of stay the next time i'm in Bedford.
Appreciated
A verve guest
I liked the location, that’s the only thing this hotel has going for them is their fantastic location. You can walk to all the places you need to go to and even hop on a bus or taxi is very easy.
The location is wonderful. You can walk into Bedford town, or down to the River Great Ouse. Having a dedicated parking space was a real plus too.
There is a washer/dryer, which was very handy.
My favorite hotel. Friendly staff. Location. A bath tub! Water. Kettle, Quiet except for occasional weekend guests enjoying themselves. My favorite place to stay in Bedford. Reasonable price.
good location. good staff. good river views. good bar. reasonable breakfast. smelly bathroom. have stayed twice before and will stay again if near Bedford. A friendly hotel overall.
Located in a great spot in Bedford. The room design was uniquely cool and creative. The staff were really nice and with great vibe. Breakfast was delightful.
