Visited in June. Area has walking potential and is good for nature lovers. We are elderly with elderly dog that couldn't walk far in hot weather. Interesting history and a Cinque port. Marina. Very pleasant relatively low key resort.
Very pleasant relatively low key resort. The local museum is exceptional. The food available was disappointing - pub fare (fine but not for every lunch and dinner) - with no stall/restaurant selling crab sandwiches or edible shell fish. Loved Brightlingsea.
Loved Brightlingsea. We were pleasantly surprised how peaceful and pretty it was. The museum was very interesting and loved the lake & beach huts. We ate at the Yachtsman twice and the Rosebud. Enjoyed our meals at both places. We travelled out most days to Mersea, Dedham, Holland -0n -Sea, Maldon and Colchester and would recommend all these places.Guest review byGregoryUnited Kingdom

Was there when we opened the door next morning! Chocolate provided. Food basics all provided in fridge. Nice little bits left for guest use... including tea and coffee/ some bathroom things like shampoo and conditioner(happy to use what was left by others!) Really couldn't fault it.
