These questions are inappropriate since we were there for family reasons. However there was a party booked into the inn which was finishing as we arrived back. We were able to get to our room without going through the main building and could not hear any noise since the accommodation was at the far end of the building away from the "pub". The tea facilities were very generous and the bathroom and bed superb. Thank you!

We used Milnthorpe as a base for touring the Lake district.

We used Milnthorpe as a base for touring the Lake district. It is a very small village with only two pubs which are very close together. As we were staying in the pub Hotel which was called The Bull Inn were we able to have dinner there. We didn't really go out in the town as we spent the days at each lake. There are a few shops in the town such as supermarket, curry house and a couple of breakfast shops. There is a lovely old church in the square too.

If you stay within 10 miles & want a good meal, consider an Indian at the "Number 3" in Milnthorpe We had poppadoms x2 & dips x4, drinks x2, mixed sharer starters, madras x2, rice dishes x2, sides & naan bread - Under £50 for 2 of us (including tip). All wonderfully cooked, great, fresh food and fantastic service. Small, family owned and run, restaurant (book ahead) was full [on a Thursday in March] & people constantly arriving to collect pre-ordered takeaways. Very popular & CLEARLY the best for miles around. Next door to The Bull's Head, which is a comfortable, clean, well run hotel at ⅓ the price of more popular towns locally (Kendal etc.) Triple room was only £75 for 2 of us, including a great full English Breakfast. And they hace a restaurant for food too.

Milnthorpe is a working town with a busy road going through it, but still very scenic, plenty of amenities and close to the south lakes. A river runs through it and a deer park is nearby. Locals very friendly and chatty. All in all a lovely place.

Milnthorpe is a small village on a busy junction on the A6.

Milnthorpe is a small village on a busy junction on the A6. As such, exploring the village involves a few waits to cross the extremely busy traffic lighted crossroads and there isn't that much to it. Its history is about being a staging point for travellers. That aside, the folks are a diverse and friendly crowd, the Bull's Head and the Cross Keys are nice pubs and the No. 3 Indian restaurant food is excellent. It is only a few minutes' walk down the road to Dallam Tower deer park. Four miles south west is Arnside and 10 miles east is Kendal, so it is a good base to plan walks both coastal and lakes.
