    The location was perfect. The food was excellent and the conversations delightful. The dinners at the Cú Mara Bistro, only a couple of minutes walk away along the loch, were very good. Plus they have two charming gray cats!

TwoStones is a traditional Highland bed & breakfast establishment, built in 1835. It has been fully renovated & the interior provides up to date, modern, comfortable facilities. The property is situated overlooking Loch Long (a sea loch) & the Arrochar Alps mountain range on the western edge of The Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park. The off street parking area can accommodate up to 4 vehicles & we have secure cycle storage. Arrochar & Tarbet railway station, on the famous West Highland Line, is just one mile from TwoStones. We cater for all dietary requirements in our well appointed breakfast room. As well as our renowned TwoStones Mountain breakfast, we offer a good selection of alternative & lighter dishes. Packed lunches are available to order. Be aware that there are six steps to the front door & guest rooms are on the first floor. Unfortunately, we cannot take children or pets.

Arrochar is situated 2 miles west of Loch Lomond on the banks of Loch Long. It is surrounded by a group of mountains known as 'The Arrochar Alps' noted for their alpine characteristics. Four Munros (mountains above 3000ft / 914m) are accessible on foot straight from the front door, with a fifth, Ben Lomond reached by ferry across Loch Lomond. Two long distance routes, The Three Lochs Way & The Cowal Way, both pass through Arrochar, convenient for an overnight stop. There are many other routes using forest tracks & old disused roadways which can be explored on foot or by cycle. Cycle hire is available nearby. Twostones is situated in the centre of the village next to the Village store. Arrochar has a selection of restaurants offering different styles of traditional Scottish/British cuisine, a fish shop, three cafe/tea rooms & a post office all accessible on foot. Many other fine restaurants are to be found within a short drive. There are many indoor attractions in the area as well as the stunning scenery of the national park with boat trips available on both Loch Lomond & Loch Katrine. The city of Glasgow is a 1 hour drive & can be reached by regular public transport.
