One of the nicest resorts I’ve ever stayed at. The location was perfect right on the water with exceptional amenities. I originally booked a deluxe oceanfront room with an infinity pool but upon arrival the amazing staff upgraded us to a private villa with a private pool (1000/10) the staff were beyond exceptional and helpful in every way possible. The food in the restaurants was delicious! It’s about an hour from the Heraklion airport and about a 10min drive into town where it’s lovely to walk around the shops and restaurants along the water and easy to book excursions. We stayed for 6 days so we did explore the island as much as we could out to Samariá Gorge, Chania, Elafonisi Beach (pink sand) and the museums in Heraklion. The location, the food and the hospitality made this holiday in Crete a dream!

The service was absolutely perfect. Every time we needed something, our requests were met with genuine kindness and a smile. The cleanliness of both the hotel and the room – spotless and fresh every time. The pool is deep, well-maintained, and surrounded by new, comfortable sunbeds. The nearby bay beach is quiet and beautiful, with sandy access and cozy loungers. And the breakfast? Simply indulgent – delicious, varied, and served with a breathtaking view. There’s also a supermarket just a 5-minute walk away, which was very convenient for anything we needed during our stay.

    Agios Nikolaos is well worth a visit, this being our second time here after a day trip last year. This year we stopped here for 2 nights at the end of a tour around the island. We could probably have stayed for another night, 2 more at the most. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to visit, both during the day and night. Shops are great and beaches within 5 min walk or drive.

    Very nice town. Many activities. Nice beaches. Nice people. You can do scuba dive, snorkeling, trip with semisubmarine, trip with both at Spinagola Island, Olive Farm, Traditional Cretan Village Kritza, trip with little train, many atractions around like CretAquarium, Amazonas Park, Beaches, Museum. And many nice restaurants like Karnagio or Plateia.

    Such a scenic beautiful place with so many restaurants and bars offering quality food. At the time of year we visited it wasn’t too busy or noisy but still had a buzz and atmosphere. Lots to do and see and some nice beaches as well as the lake and the port. A good place to sit and people watch from the coffee bars!!

    Cute small town by the coast, when we were there there weren’t a lot of things to do other than explore the surrounding nature of agios nikolaos and we didn’t have a car but in order to properly go around the area outside of town I recommend renting a car!

    We came for 5 nights half board and we enjoyed every moment. Agios Nikolaos is 10 minutes drive and it is a beautiful small city. Also must see is a little village Plaka in front to Spinalunga Island (from the book the Island) is 20 minutes drive. Kritsa is also a nice village 20 minutes away. The dinner was great, with variety of first courses and main courses. We loved it.

    Busy town with plenty going on.

    Busy town with plenty going on. Cruises and a little train doing local tours. Plenty of restaurants to choose from and plenty of authentic Greek food. A few hills but nothing too energetic. I did find that Greece is becoming a lot more expensive than it was some years ago.

    We had a wonderful holiday at Chrisa’s apartment. The apartment itself was lovely and comfy with everything we needed for our stay. Its location was great, in walking distance of lovely restaurants and local shops. Chrisa was a wonderful host, so friendly and helpful, giving us some ideas for places to visit locally and leaving us some tasty treats to try on our arrival. Thank you again Chrisa, Crete was just as wonderful as we had remembered.

    Nothing was too much trouble for Giannis. On arrival we were warmly greeted and given a most generous welcome pack . A list of restaurant recommendations were excellent, also places to visit and taxi firm numbers were most helpful. (Villa to Agios centre charge 10 euros) We would definitely recommend this spacious, well equipped villa for a perfect stay on this beautiful island of Crete. Thank you Giannis. for making us feel so welcome.

    My stay was short but perfect! Was only staying in this hotel for one night but I wish I would have been there for longer. The staff were so nice, hotel was in a perfect location and the room was spacious and beautiful. There is small beach around the corner, and it was nice to be able to leave your valuables in the hotel while going for a swim. Definitely will be staying in this hotel if I ever go back to Agios Nikolaos!

    The hosts were some of the friendliest folks we met in Crete. They saved a parking spot right beside the apartment (VERY valuable in Agios Nikolaos) and made sure we had access to it. They gave us a welcome gift of wine, nuts, and chocolate. And when our kids expressed an interest in sports, they made sure we had access to a TV sports channel, which the kids loved.
